Oh, wow, I am late to this.

The best fruit, of course, is the banana.

...And mangoes, but only because they're tasty and orange on the inside while bananas are yellow and glorious.

I am actually surprised that no one else likes pineapples.

I like oranges, but it takes me an hour or two to prepare one for eating.

You've got some hardcore goddamn oranges over there.

You should try them tangerines, they're much easier to get open.
It's not the oranges, it's me. I take of the outer peel, then separate the segments, then remove the white fibers, then scrape off the... whatever it is that's white to yellow and tastes unpleasant. And then I eat it. I'm not very quick at any of those steps, either.
Never had a tangerine. I'll have to look into them.

Raw lemons and limes are pretty good. Depends on the lemon or lime, though. Some are of not-tasty quality.

Pshaw. I eat oranges whole.

I don't eat oranges whole, but the white is an acquired taste because it is bitter and the orange is sweet and citrus-y. Both at once can be kind of disorientating. That said, it doesn't really bother me anymore.

Fun fact, you can tell how many segments are in an orange without peeling it by pulling of the end of the stem. Under it you can see a circle of small white dots. Each of those dots is actually a nutrient vein that the orange tree uses to support the fruit, and there is normally one for each segment. I've found exceptions, but it is true more often than not.

Do pickled cucumbers count? They may start as a vegetable, but turn into sweet juicy goodness.

I'd agree with potatoes as best vegetables, except that they still have a nasty susceptibility to blight.  More genetic engineering needed I guess.
