I have no dislike for the flavour of pears, but i truly cannot stand their texture. it's far too mealy and mushy.

i absolutelly loathe soft pears. crunchy ones are amazing, though. pera rocha(rock pear), might be an exclusivelly portuguese variety, but if it is, then in pitty you all for never having had one

though all of them become soft and mushy if they ripen enough, without any visible hints. when i get one of those, i take the first bite and it goes straight to the compost box

you should do everything in your power to acquire an amount of appropriately unripe pears of this kind
