On accident while bludgeoning some cycplopian heads in i made a campfire in the lair well ive noticed the campfire is gone but the little fire animation is still there and it just says ashes but i still cannot get past it i refuse to let my cycplops bludgeoning hero die a pathetic death so how can i fix this can i somehow remove campfires and ashes from the game for a bit?

Cant. Campfires inside a cave are alive forever.





Get DFHack and pour water on it, but then you may drown.

Yep, I did this once after returning to a lair where my two companions had fallen so I could slay three vampires with FIVE companions. Couldn't get out. THe thing is my companions were on the other side.  Buggers didn't even try to help...

Ive found that you, and other creatures can dodge into campfires. But unless there is something attacking you I dont think you can make it out without dfhack.

Can't you alt-move onto them?

I lost my first adventurer (just a couple days ago) because he melted and bled to death when I set the wild strawberries I was standing in on fire.  I was not able to move out of that tile no matter what I tried (move, shift+move, alt+move, ctrl+move).
