Hi everyone, I've been really bored lately and I need some sort of hobby that I can do in the day. I've been studying Japanese and learning how to draw, but I do that at night so I don't have to explain anything to my parents. I like math and science, especially physics, but I get bored of it easily because I don't have much of an incentive to learn more. Basically I just need something to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could take up endurance running (if you are a crazy person).

Go for the running option, I think, or even just general physical fitness. Only takes two hours a few days a week, and it leaves you feeling like you've really accomplished something all of the time.

Metalworking? I started with just hammering out railroad spikes into fairly serviceable[ knives. Nowadays I can make small replacement parts for about anything I get my hands on to investigate if I have the proper material.

It's obvious, but start something you'd like to do. No point in trying creative writing if writing isn't your thing, for example.

Learn to cook ? Cooking is fun, and can be an impressive skill to have. Depending on what you do, you don't have to wait till just before lunch to actually start (bread comes to mind : since the dough can take an awfully long time to rise, you can do it pretty much whenever you want, as long as you plan accordingly).

Knitting is surprisingly relaxing, and a very handy skill if you live in Canada or something.

The health thing. Do something healthy, because you might want to live longer... For some reason. I wouldn't know.
Get a pet/plant/aquarium.
Buy a WH40K army, and play against yourself if no one is available. (I have NEVER done that.)

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I think I'll start running again, and work on cooking as well, since there is rarely food that I like at my house. I don't have much money, and I can't exactly do anything with people, so a number of suggestions are out because of that. Martial arts would be pretty awesome, but I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere, so I can't exactly go anywhere close to learn. I could also work on my writing, I'd been meaning to write some essays anyway. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, and thank you again.

I should have thought of that one, thanks for the idea. If I make a decent game though, I would much rather provide it for free and allow people to donate if they wish, so no worries.

Then code it in flash. Upload it to a flash gaming site like kongregate or armor games. On kongregate, high-voted new games can win up to $1500. Even if it's not they give you a portion of ad revenue.
