this is the mod I've been working on, been planning on starting a succession game off of this. don't worry about downloading it, the save file is all that would be needed to join in.

We have reached the end of the first year with only two deaths, a tiger killed a woodcutter, and a miner has been buried in magma (as all good dwarves should aspire).  I now abdicate my post and prepare for the next leader.

the basics of the mod are the addition of new cold weather creatures (Mammoths), new sources of wool, new plants, giant centipedes, new playable dwarf races, several new trading civilizations.

also, added gnolls as a new seiger race, added castes to goblins.

added a small percent chance of nickel to a few ores, starmetal, and cold steel.

also a bone carvers workshop.

1- miner
!!Cog Flyseals!!- died for magma acquisition purposes.

4- mason/mechanic/architect
Lum Rakestand

5- woodcutter

Maybe I'll join. I've got Zonnish and an upcoming reclaim of the STNPO-2 fort on my plate already, though.

well it's restricted to edits to the RAR files, and it works with the current version so when I get the first year done feel free to grab the save file, it should work as is without having to edit the rest of the game. (in retrospect you probably already knew this)
