And you can get them hauled to the depot by searching for items with the letter 'x' in the name.

100-300 old pairs of smelly socks buys a lot of supplies from the gullible humans.

owned items can't be dumped or hauled. Outside of dfhack I know no other way to stop ownership fast, dropped items stay owned for some time

Since v0.34.06 owned items that are dropped (not stored in a cabinet) lose ownership in 10-20 days.  That isn't really that long.

Yeah Ive had dwarfs drop their clothing as soon as it gets xwornx, it gets ridiculous.
Clothes everywhere that generate constant hauling jobs, which interrupt the more important hauling jobs like metal bars, furniture, food and the like.
Not even dfhack´s autodump is a solution as moments later more clothes get dropped. And this is only a 150 dwarf fort, I dread to imagine what a 400 dwarf fort would be like.
Also, clothing of dead dwarfs gets inta-owned by whatever dwarf feels he needs it as soon as the owner dies. Its what ive observed at least.

At the very least they have the decency to drop it in the garbage zone atom smasher. The only problem is they sometimes place it inside finished goods bins.

Still, all the more reason to leave the finicky sods in leather armor 24/7.
