Erm, normal speed is like 900. If BCs have 400, that makes them about twice as fast as most critters and half again as fast as elves.

However, the double speed is lost due to its immense size.
...???
How is that the case? Size does not decrease speed, and BCs aren't multi-tile yet.

Actually, it does.  I KNOW that to be a fact.  My mod was cursed with slow-speed when I had the size tokens too large.

I do wish I could find where the speed is defined. Wasn't in its entry in creatures_standard, and adding [SPEED:200] seemed to have no noticeable effect on how fast they actually did work.

I find this doubtful, but the only work I've done with races that are of vastly different sizes is where the race was SUPPOSED to be slow.

I've heard conflicting reports on if decreasing SPEED increases the speed that jobs are done in workshops or not. Maybe that's the issue?
EDIT: There's a default speed that most critters use.

If they were wearing armor, that was what slowed them down.

Aha, I remeber something! Thanks, Putnam. Big creatures with clothes are slowed down a lot more by them than small creatures, because the big guys' clothes are heavier. That might have been what Putnam was trying to say, but I think I said it more clearly.

...oh derp. I just now figured that out. After finally getting to play Bronze Colossus in adventurer mode without it being an outsider, I found out the clothes he had were stupidly heavy.

Awww man this brings back memories, I once modded in an entity of adamantine collosi and thought adventure mode was going quite swimmingly until I attacked another without realizing it and ended up with an unending fight and the stunning revelation that it probably wasn't a good idea  :'(

Ouch. I tried that modding idea and it...didn't go well. Couldn't get Adamantine Colossi to actually exist. XD

Carefully go through the raws and replace every single instance of BRONZE with ADAMANTINE.  That is what I did for something that is coming out in my next mod.

Hmm...just for creature_standard?

Yeah.  That is the only instance of bronze colossi in the raws.

If you renamed bronze adamantine by accident, you'd have...accidents.

Also, keep in mind that BRONZE is an eye and skin color, while ADAMANTINE is not.

I think I only modded the bronze colossi section, not the dwarven eye/skin sections.
