Dragons don't have grasping parts. Colossus do.

That gives me an idea. Wonder how easy it'd be to mod in the ability for them to grasp with their forepaws or mouth.

Had considered making them able to fly too. X3

Already been done, by me.

But on topic, I would like this for my mod (link is in the sig).  Do I have permission to put it in?

Permission for what, the bronze colossus as a playable civ? Sure, wasn't that big a change for me. I still need to play through some more to see whether doing this will cause any complications or not. But as a simple a change as it is, seems like it hopefully won't hurt anything.

My main plan is to set up some armorsmithing to see if the armor will be sized right.

As I found out with my dragons, armorsize is determined by the creature that created it, so any armor you smith will turn out fine.  All other armors will add the tag small, due to the fact that they were all forged by smaller beings.

Ah, good to hear. Any other possible complications that might arise from this? So far I can guess that a complete lack of emotion might be problamatic. Plus if they don't sleep, and get injured...well, guess that depends on whether the "rest" function is built into the dwarf's data or the game's instead.

Having an injured bronze colossus that wants to rest but can't might be problematic.

You mean besides the slow speed?  (Major problem that I have decided to let go with my mod, just because I do not want them to be any faster than they are now.)

The things you listed are blessings to some people...  I am fairly sure rest is built into the game, but if the collossi have [NO_PAIN] then that isn't likely to matter.

Ah, speed. That might be a problem. Funny thing is bronze colossi seemed mighty fast in Adventurer Mode, but I just realized that blowing points on boosting agility may have been the real reason for that.

If it gets hurt and there is a hospital. It will lay down and wait until someone picks it up, hauls it to the hospital then won't stop resting until recovered

Do note
SLEEP
and
REST

are two different functions

Hmm...might be an issue, then. The fact they also seem to lack any natural healing might also complicate matters.

Probably was.  The colossi have [SPEED:400], correct?  If so, change it to [SPEED:200] and you should be fine.  I would say that you should keep it the way it is, to balance the colossi out somewhat.

Guess I should, yeah. Though if I'm going to cheat horribly, ensuring the fort won't creep along slowly would be better in the name of fun. Maybe not Fun, but fun. XP

Erm, normal speed is like 900. If BCs have 400, that makes them about twice as fast as most critters and half again as fast as elves.

However, the double speed is lost due to its immense size.

...???
How is that the case? Size does not decrease speed, and BCs aren't multi-tile yet.

Meh. Make BCs have UTTERANCES so they're hostile with everyone, then boost dwarves/nerf BCs so that normal sieges of dwarves are scary. (Sieges of humans or goblins should be irritating, and dangerous without a good military. Sieges of elves should be training, although maybe make elves TRAPAVOID.)

Since dwarves would have access to steel they would already have dangerous sieges.
