Collecting and Storing Vampire Blood
« on: June 26, 2012, 07:10:12 pm »

How do I collect and keep vampire blood? If it matters, what parts of the body should I hit, with what weapon? I think you can only pick up "pools" of blood, not smears - is that right, is it just a matter of letting the vamp bleed more? Can I put a bloody knife in a backpack/bag, and will it stay bloody?

I now want to drop vampire blood in the wells of towns/forts and create vampire armies. :D

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Hack at a vampire with a bladed weapon (sword, knife, axe... even a spear).

Hit its throat if you can, otherwise chop off a hand or foot.

Stand in a pool of its blood. (I) > interact with waterskin > fill waterskin with blood.

You forgot the last step Headhanger, possess your companions with DF Hack and have them drink the blood.

THE TABLES HAVE TURNED MORTALS, YOUR KIN WILL KNOW THE PAIN OF OUR TEETH IN YOUR FLESH.  THE COWS WILL OVERTHROW YOUR TYRANNY AND RULE THE WORLD!

And thus the Age of Bovine began.

You're a twisted man. I'd promote you if I could. I don't know what I'd be promoting you from or to, but there'd be a medal in it for you. Maybe a plaque.

I now have an image of a devious adventurer passing round a waterskin of vampire blood around a campfire... previous companions, now turned and part of your Cult Of The Night, waiting in the shadows just beyond the firelight... the newcomers eagerly sample the waterskin's contents, never suspecting your machinations...

Although, it's more likely to be a backpack full of blood. You can infect more people that way.

And it's a shame that you can't poison the town's well. Or maybe not. There was some giant cave spider venom floating downstream last time I looked.

In fact if -you- are a vampire you could probably just store your own blood as wounds occur. That's not suspiscious at all!

Wait....

MAKE ONLY THE ANIMALS DRINK FROM THAT WELL!

But then the animals become vampires, and when they're butchered for meat, anyone who eats it also becomes a vampire.  This way, though, you can't be fingered as the one responsible for the sudden vampire apocalypse.
