Wood blocks - any point?
« on: June 26, 2012, 03:01:50 pm »

What is the difference practically between logs and blocks, aside from storage? Can you burn blocks to produce charcoal, turn them into crafts, etc? Or are they just construction material? Because you seem  to make multiple blocks from one boulder, so I presume you do it with logs as well.

Old and cringe account. Disregard.

Blocks are just construction material.  Building constructions with blocks is faster than with logs.  Blocks are lighter than logs.  Depending on your workflow and where you're building this can thus be faster.  This is most useful when piercing aquifers.

Logs only form one block per log, unlike boulders.

If you build your walls with logs, they'll still count toward your wealth, limiting the wood import. If you first convert them to blocks, then import is not impaired.
