« on: June 26, 2012, 01:11:44 pm »

Is it possible to hypothetically make a Zombie curse much like the vampire and warecreature ones?
If so I hope sombody makes it soon... I would but I dont have that kinda time and im a rather slow worker but heck if I figure it out I might just get started on it and upload it.

yeah i guess that makes sense but then after a few days of being cut up by enemies your wounds would get pretty ugly

I've seen a couple people post that they have made a zombie apocalypse mod. Try searching for it, I'm sure it will come up.

Why does it have to be transformed, exactly?

Because In order to give it the ability to raise others as zombie upon kill it needs to have that interaction, which i don't believe you can just give it to an already existing creature. It's possible to give a creature the ability to raise a body on touch, but giving that raised body the interaction to raise others is where it gets tricky.

I was going with how Warewolves pass their infection on with [SPECIALATTACK_INTERACTION:WEREBEAST_BITE] which is only creature level and cannot be added to attacks, This would make it so only a zombie bite can infect someone. That way if the zombie just batters the victum and never gets a bite in. then all is well.

Were as a necromancer Zombie just seems odd. Unless Syndromes can stay on a creature even in death, say
"the dwarf has been bitten, the dwarf has died"
"zombie raises infected dwarf corpse" - but zombie wont raise that dog skeleton that has been laying in the sun for years.

Maybe it could be something like husks or werebeasts--once you bite them (a la werebeast), they get a bunch of modifications from the interaction (a la husk).

So maybe a slow progression to zombification, but they cannont spread the virus. Only pure (elder zombies) have had the virus mature to the infectious stage.

After a bit teh infected would become sluggish, and dizzy and drowsy with fevers and seveare vomitting. Then become paralized but gain NOBREATHE. then they gain OPPOSED_TO_LIFE and NOT_LIVING and a massive stat boost to physcial abilies, and Blood is removed. But thought is left in so Braining them is a vaild kill switch.

Makes me want to play with this now

Why not? I'm sure there's something we can do, like how vampires make vampires by drinking blood!
...We'd need to make all creatures we want to be able to turn into infectious zeds have a "saliva" material that gets injected on a bite...

Excellent. I hope someone tries to make this! (Don't forget to turn off the old stuff once zombification sets in. Also, a chance of outright death would be good.)
