I took Dirty Bomber in the very first round, which damn near ended up being a round 1 scum win if I hadn't changed someone (back) into a PGO.

The prevalence of PGOs was starting to turn me off to the gametype, though.

If someone picks a role that's been around a whole bunch they get screwed over though, right?  At least that was the spirit of the original KotM.

Oh. I'm really sick of PGOs too. It'll end poorly for them.

And following that plan would simply be lawfully stupid. It's easy to have something go wrong. And when things go wrong, people start pointing guns. You refuse to acknowledge this point, so it's moot. If you don't scumhunt, you don't win. If you don't go against the town, you don't win. You can never win if you mindlessly go with any plan they make. If you're planning on being lucky and stepping on an instant win, you're going to have a bad time. It's actually hilarious to see people trying to make plans to do that. There's plenty of ways to counter that.
There were two people alive by D2. That wasn't a result of any scumhunting, that was a pure and unadulterated FUCK YOU from Fortuna. Admit it, KotM is the most horribly luck-based gametype that ever existed, with a nice addition of only being playable as scum.

No, that was a pure and unadulterated FUCK YOU from yourself. You daykilled Toaster before the massclaim happened, putting your fate up to chance instead of making an informed decision, and unintentionally allowing the town a method to eliminate everyone. You should have waited until after the massclaim, which you should have known was inevitable from the moment Pandar suggested it, and probably daykilled McArathos.

And that would leave three people alive in the best case, most probably still two. How is that not luck-based?

If you had daykilled McArathos after the massclaim, you could have suggested:

D1: PM hammers Pandar (4 players left)
N1: Josh targets Native, everyone else !nones (3 players left)
D2: Lynch Toaster, you and Josh cross-target (everyone dead)

In actuality, you would have inspected Josh N1, leaving you and Toaster (whom you could safely daykill) as the only survivors D2. Checkmate.

Mind you, this is just a plan I thought up at 3:30 AM.

And everyone would have run with my suggestion. Suure.

Which also reinforces the point that you don't have to do anything as town.

Your job would have been to convince them that it was the correct plan, which is a far cry from your victory being entirely up to luck - it would have been up to your persuasive skills. And if town got complacent and blindly followed you (aka not doing anything), they'd have lost.

Well, the Cybrid is over, and nothing else is really in signups. Are there any games brewing? Maybe a certain kitchen appliance would host a Roguelike?

I'd still be interested in running a crazy game with my idea here, but I wouldn't be able to start it until the middle of July.  I'd even try to come up with some good flavor for Bookthras and GG :D
