A Siren's apperence is tied to her humanity score. Humanity score is raised by doing civilized things such as learning mundane skills, building, cooking, negotiating, ect. Humanity is lowered by performing savage or Taboo actions, such as fighting, learning magical skills, working alongside monsters or other savage beings, eating raw food, ect.

A Siren with high humanity is indistinguishable from a drop dead gorgeous girl. A Siren with low humanity is basically a huge deformed penguin with humanoid arms and legs.

Your humanity starts in the middle. You have a beak, feathers, and webbed feet, but are otherwise rather human looking. Sunny's mental state pretty much keeps her stuck in the low humanity beast state. She can't comprehend the civilized so she defaults to savage behavior if nobody is around to guide her otherwise.
