Inventory:
5 KG Of Brass
5 Kg of zinc
5 kg of bronze

Chassis of Machine
3 Tonnes Brass/Bronze

If my math is correct we have less than one fifth of one percent of the required metal to build the chassis.

Build a smelter. Look for abandoned vehicles or metal dumpsters or similar that we can discretely sneak back to our lair workshop.

Pretty much. You have little to no chance making these soon.

I honestly thought this was going to be about veterinarians.

Right. So...again:

Build a smelter. Look for abandoned vehicles or metal dumpsters or similar that we can discretely sneak back to our lair workshop.

This isn't going to last long if you only show up every couple days to tell us we can't do things and ignore the things we can do.

You decide that you should aquire some things. For the greater good. You find a Brass car wreck! You decide to haul it back to your workshop.
You construct a smelter from 5 KG of Brass. It can smelt 2 KG of material a day.
The wreck, at this rate will take five days.

EDIT: Sorry, bucket, I didn't see your suggestion.

A car has only 22 pounds worth of metal in it? Huh. Ok. Hopefully it will have some other useful parts too. Think we need to set aside our inherited schematic for now. There are too many orders of magnitude difference between what we have and what it requires.

We worked in this workshop for 25 years before we acquired it. What's marketable? Put up the "open for business" sign. See if we can get some customers. While we wait:

 * Begin smelting the car wreck. Redesign a bigger smelter with greater capacity using the newly smelted metal.
 * Build a robot capable of operating the smelter with mimmal supervision so we can continue smelting operations without taking up our own time.
 * Begin digging in our basement to construct an underground lair

We can't take over the world without an underground lair can we? :P

I agree with all points accept the last one. The problem I see is that this is steampunk, so the steam might cause problems with an underground lair's walls. Even a single flaw in the chimney design could cause massive damage. I'd suggest a flying ship lair instead.

I'm ok with an airship instead of an underground lair.
