Zombie Hydra
« on: June 24, 2012, 08:23:31 pm »

I was browsing legends mode and found this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Unfortunately it died to an elf.
I see that others have had something similar happen, but do we know what causes this and how to replicate it?

Is it possible that once a historical figure dies in an evil biome, the biome resurrects it?

"Associated with REBIRTH and muck"

There it is, I bet thats how it was a zombie. Because it was associated with rebirth.

Holy crap. I was JUST experimenting with this in arena. Literally today. Well, it doesn't surprise me it was killed, world-gen does strange things. Although my emerald leviathans have't died....

Anyway, no I haven't seen anything like it, but wow, Must've been a terrifying sight. Kudos to the elf who did the deed.

A normal elf would be using wooden armor and such. However, during world gen I'm not particularly sure whether or not it actually tracks those kind of minute details. I believe in world gen elves and dwarves and horrid abominations are all on an even playing field.

I could be horribly wrong though.

Nah, it's been pretty much constant in past versions of DF as well that megabeasts that live in evil biomes tend to start life as zombies by the RNG. And zombies are considerably more fragile than their living counterparts, most of the time.
