You head out. There's a lot of imprints, you guess of animal nature, heading to your right from the puddles. Huh?

You hear the sounds of machinery from the entry pathway.

You take a look and the wall has lowered, securing your escape at last, if you choose.

Stand in place, try to examine where or what may lie in the direction of yon tracks.

Ready sling to attack with stones.

If nothing is spotted, try examining the nearby foliage for edibility, by the ol'contact test:

[3-1] You examine the tracks. Yep. They're tracks. They head near a patch of blood and into the foliage. Maybe they have to do with Pauly?

[6-1] Even with your best efforts, the hunger is too distracting. You sit down and think. You bet there's food in the pyramid, otherwise why would anyone go in there? You could also follow those tracks. Whatever made them is bound to be edible.

You hear the sounds of machinery from behind you. Oh, looks like the path is clear and goes further on. You can see Axel at the end of it.

Oh, we're on the potential last few turns. What will Ferren do to stave off her starvation? Kill Axel, explore the pyramid, follow the tracks!?

Axel saw Ferren at the end of the tunnel. She was looking really hungry, to say the least. He knew that he couldn't survive for much longer here, he wasn't much good at surviving in the wilderness. He needed to leave, and the only way he knew of was to be the last one standing. But did he have the guts to go through with it?

"Ferren, come on in here before the door closes! It's safer in here!"

Wave at Ferren to come in then inspect the carvings above each tunnel more closely and search the walls and floors for secret panel or compartments. Keep a close eye on Ferren.

You continue to search for secret panels the GM never thought of. You fail. Maybe this isn't a human style, trap ridden pyramid?

You examine the carvings more closely. If you were an art critic, you'd give it a solid E. It has a primitive charm, but that's it. Might fall in as abstract art, but honestly, and this is your honest opinion, they look like 3rd grader drawings! I mean come on, that fish is just a <>< . You could do better than that. Hmph.

You watch Ferren sprint down the fish path and skid to a stop about 10 meters in.

When inside, try to search for any edible food.

You head inside. While Axel is looking at some carvings, you look around. You're in a large room with a high ceiling, with three paths and another small room branching off. The small room has an empty basket. Above the three paths are what you think are a vine, fish, and a spike.

FISH!?

[6-1] You're about to run all the way down the path in starvation when you stop yourself. Waaaait. You spot a puddle half way down the tunnel. You connect a few dots: the tracks, the puddles outside, Pauly. This probably isn't safe.

Pauly's voice echoed in Ferren's mind as she contemplated on what had occurred. His tone before his disappearance and the blood stains similar to one being dragged or pinned to the ground.

It was all to clear.

There was no food here.

"Axel, nothing important down the Fish path!

"The...spike doesn't look like a good one, being a triangle and all. I'll take the vine path."

Backtrack, then take ye vine path!

That cruddy robot voice thing-a-ma-wag should act better. Tell Axel this is trapped.

Axel watched Ferren walk back and worth, clutching her stomach and talking to herself. This was worrying. She could get desperate enough to attack him in order to survive. He knew what was needed to be done, but could he go through with it?

"Sure thing. Be right with you."

He had to. There was no other way...

I'm sorry... I have no choice... he thought as he waited for the right moment.

Wait until Ferren walks towards the vine path and has her back to me, then skewer her with my javelin. If she still lives, smash her head open with my axe.

The clang notifies Ferren of your failed intentions, so you go in for the kill with a two handed axe swipe.

Now you're in trouble. Oh, and there's several vines closing in from Ferren's direction.

You head down the vine path. It seems there's a cluster of foliage with several vines near it, searching the ground for something. Oh dear, not this again. It seems a few are 'randomly' approaching you.

You turn to run back when you see Axel get smacked on the head by one of his javelins. Your suspicion is verified when he comes at you, axe over head, filled with blood lust.

Well, looks like next turn will be the last turn. I had to quickly think of a PvP system, and I think this works. Surprise attacks work, because the opponent won't be able to roll in defense. You can still miss, however, as evident in this turn.

Please automate combat so that I can roll for '15' minutes worth.

Since we're at the end, I might as well start the voting now. I have three ideas for the next edition's scenario.

Basic, Tribal Technology - Exactly like this, different biomes.

Modern, Zombie Apocalypse - Zombie Survival, essentially. You'll be able to scavenge for modern technology.

Advanced, Abandoned Alien City - You'll be exploring an abandoned alien city, full of amazing technology. Robots, still protecting their long gone masters, patrol the streets and buildings.

All these will be fully planned before start and with an already detailed bestiary. They get harder to make the farther you go down, so if we go with Advanced it might take me several weeks to get done.

I'm going to throw up a poll, so anyone is free to vote.

Finely, I never did this because I kept forgetting. I planned to have a 'favorite' competitor vote. Everyone, including the competitors, vote in a poll for their favorite. Whoever is at the top at the end of every 15 turns wins a free ration. Thoughts? I hesitate a bit in case it becomes a popularity contest, but it seems to work well for Mario Grand Prix
