You order the Drones to continue digging further downwards and outward, as well as to prepare the start of a second Hive and to reinforce the existing Hive. Again, You are positive that a mass drop would kill Us all, but this way, You might be able to at least get some Eggs or Larvae safe before death.

The first thing is to reverse engineer the Biped Flying Scout. You scan the drone and re-image it in the Laboratory to understand the mechanical parts. Combined with the Repair Drone and the Navigation-Programming Drone, We re-wire the Drone and reattach it to power. While there is quite a lot of corruption, fragmentation, and lost data, You nonetheless feel secure in your ability to rebuild and reintegrate the Mechanical Scout, and do so. You additionally construct an Experimental Mechanical Drone Obviously, You and the Programming Drone re-integrate the Drone into the Biped network stealthily, allowing it to receive information; the procedure works without a flaw for Our copy of the Mechanical Scout.

Both are released and sent forth to explore.

You begin to do research on thermal materials, and develop several varieties of fabric insulation. After this, You design and (crudely) assemble a single Drone Environmental Protection Suit, and pack a Drone into it. It gets sent out as the Mechanical Drones return. You gather two vital pieces of information: the Substation has been damaged in the storm, and is currently Offline aside from a skeleton crew of Mechanical Repair Drones and a single stripped-down and damaged Biped armored vehicle. Several Biped corpses are littered about the area. All of them suffered ballistic and blunt trauma, and appear to have received a high-velocity round to the head. Tracks and bits of debris indicate that a large company of armored bipeds came in hot and raided the Substation, then retreated to a base.

The second Drone (of Our manufacture) has returned heavily damaged, little more than flying scrap with a camera, even after the crash. You examine the remainder of the information and discover that there is a Stealthed Camouflaged Armored Pirate Landcraft located a day and a half travel to the northeast. It does not appear to give out more heat than is normal, moves slowly, and bristles with arms and sensors that very nearly blew Our drone into pieces. We are displeased by this, and pleased by this. So there is more than one Race of Bipeds, who, as such, are innately and permanently hostile to one another. Unfortunately, the odds of discovery have increased substantially, as it is inching in a direct course towards Our hive and will arrive within three days.

You also suspect that where there are Predators, there is a Hive.

The Drone appears to be retaining heat efficiently. Further time will be needed to deduce whether the Low-Quality Environmental Protection Suit will allow outdoor operation during the night, but signs appear to be good.

You receive two Units of Standard-Quality Synthetic Food and one unit of Low-Quality Synthetic Food.

This. And Redesign the Soldier-Sized Light Energy Blaster to pack a bigger punch, use the spare parts. Also mature those 1 Laid Soldier Egg and 2 Laid Flying Soldier Eggs while converting 10 of the undefined eggs into soldier eggs.

Also when we inform the humans of the prescence of the pirates/other faction of bipeds have the drone that informs them disconect from the humans network, so it looks like the drone was destroyed by the pirates/other faction.

alternatively, make some iron cables and line them up on the ground, then pull them into place and tie them down when the craft passes using hidden soldiers, this should immobilize it.
same strategy works if it is airborne, find some way to pull it down, if it wrecks, its dead.

Any strategy for destorying it ourselves should only be used after we have tried to have the humans destroy it. If it just disappears, or if they have time to send back a signal, other humans will come to investigate.

There is not currently an underground route to the Damaged Substation. It would be faster to approach over land. Further, the Pirates will certainly not contact the Administration, and are operating on stealth mode. Breaking radio silence would risk them getting either killed quickly, or given a show trial and killed very slowly and dramatically. They will only do so if there is a HUGE emergency, and getting mired is not one of those.

Before much longer, you decide to create information to feed to the "Admin" Hive as You order Us to dig immediately northeast to build a pit trap, bringing the Food with them. After reviewing the information from the MSD's, You create a reasonable facsimile of data, and attempt to stealthily deposit the information in the system, as though a MSD had been shot down, but managed to regain enough power to send out an emergency burst.

You have no idea how well it went. It will take some time to see results. The Drone is still operating with very little heat loss outside as it grows colder, which suggests positive results for outdoor journeys. In the meantime, weaponry and suits.  You and the Repair Drone attempt to upgrade the Energy Blaster using the spare parts, and after trial and effort, come up with a Soldier-Sized Heavy Energy Rifle. As would be expected, this weapon packs considerably more of a punch than the Pulse Blasters and Your own Light Energy Machine Gun, but lacks the rate of fire of both.

The outdoor Drone is beginning to get cold, but still remains functional.

Using the information gained from this design, You and the Repair Drone redesign and rebuild Our cannon, creating a fully-functional Medium Pulse Cannon. It remains too late to install the weapon and conceal it, but regardless, You spend the remainder of the period to triple-check the systems and improve the targeting - while it certainly does work, You cannot make any further upgrades, and turn to your next project.

The Drone is very cold. As Drones can be replaced, You decide to leave it outside. You choose a Soldier to act as your model, and design a suit for it. After assembly, You send it outside near the Freezing Drone, then immediately order both to return indoors. The design for the Drone appears mostly functional, although the Soldier suit is a miserable failure at best.

It is morning. We harvest 6 Units of Pollen Fuel, 2 Units of Standard-Quality Synthetic Food, 1 Unit of Low-Quality Synthetic Food, and 3 Fruits of Life (each worth 2 Units of Food). You note that the un-fruited Queen's Flower did not produce pollen on this cycle. Interesting.

Several eggs hatch.

-Feed anyone who is not-full.
-Install the medium pulse cannon outside, reshape the terrain around it into a pill-box esque shape. The pulse cannon should be able to fire on anything approaching the enterance to our base, but have a dirt covering above it so as not to be visible from orbit.
-Improve the design for the soldier suit, include armor in the suit.
-Feed our soldiers Iron, have them use it to increase the strength of their chitin.
-Modify the rifle so that it has 3 barrels, each feed from three differnt batteries on the soldiers back. Utilize the existing battery aswell as two new batteries. The batteries are to be charged off the fusion reactor. Ensure sufficent cooling measures.
-Fertilize the flowers of life with the pollen fuel. Both the ones inside and outside.
