You proceed to work upon Your reactor. While many of the details are simply a matter of repair, replace, and adjust, there's also a few parts that require complete replacement. One particular drone seems rather well-suited to the task of making very small repairs, and You designate it as a Level 0 Repair Drone. You and the drones further tinker with the reactor until, finally, the machine feels right.

In the meantime, the Warriors, who are beginning to slow down from the cold and lack of energy, begin assembling an above-ground earthworks for flowers.

You examine Our supply of reclaimed elements present in the Nurse. The process generated  water, carbon, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, and small amounts of various other trace elements. There is more sodium and lithium than You would have expected, and trace amounts of fluorine, but beyond that, everything is as expected. After filling the tank with a pound of water, and giving all of the Flowers a healthy watering (and a healthy dose of elements with them), You connect the final wires and activate Our reactor. It works!

Your success pleases You, and You quickly order drones to assemble a lab while We begin making the point defense into a smelter. While Repair Drone is helpful, it is clear that Our talent is limited by Our intellect. You note the potential of the application of Royal Jelly, but You currently lack it. You send Our drones to dig a borehole for ventilation purposes, although You choose to reserve a quarter to assist in the production of Agricultural Earthworks, while the remaining five Drones (counting Repair Drone) assist you in the smelting of iron. We succeed yet again, creating not only a sizable quantity of Iron, but silica and other materials.

Your concept tests for materials proves to be successful. Knowing that heat is critical to Our survival, We set out to create the materials for insulation, and come up with some terra cotta bricks, two failed attempts at "greenhouse" glass, and some insulating concrete. It is not yet enough to cover the entire Hive, but it is a start. You sense night coming again.

You consider examining the Ship, but decide against it. Too cold. In the meantime, You have a perfectly good Lab, and it will not take the entire night to produce or insulate the Flower Chamber.  You consider creating batteries - You could likely create some form of weaponry, device, or tool before morning comes, although You are open to suggestions.

We should finish the agricultural works and the heating tunnel. Also check if there are any ice deposits in the ground, water is usefull.
Before the night falls, we should gather as much things from the ship as we still can, the humans will be here soon. They've probably been delayed by the storm, however.

It is too cold, we should stay in our nest until it is warmer outside. We should review what would be required for us to have two queens.

Quite a lot of work probably.

In that case.
-Finish heating tunnel
-Finish agricultural
-Search for water(Ice in the ground. Since water is nessecary for humans and we crashed near a base of them, we're probably near them. Mars has large underground ice reserves)
-If water is found, rig up an installation the melt it. Expand it to heat the colony. (water=> deuterium=>fusion)
-See if we can get that sensor array wired up. The humans will probably send automated drones, and seeing them coming/ hacking them would be nice. Also hacking into their satelite network would give us more information. (Install it in the flower room, the heat of the computing system will prevent the plants from dieing)

-Dawn
-Search ship

Overnight, We should have all of Us who are not currently occupied with a task in the flower chamber. Our body warmth will help protect the flowers from the cold.

if we are tolerant to -50, and we find it cold, then the humans will probaby not move during the night also.

We should Fire up the reactor. We need to know what the Others are doing. Connect the sensors to the reactor once it is on.

send drones to finish digging the heating tunnel.
any residual time by Us or Ourselves should be spent concerning the survival of the plants.

Should all the earthworks and the reactor be completed:

We should then consider building 2 stationary weapons:
1, a point defense weapon; humans like to use projectile weapons; combining sensors with a pulse laser we should be able to render ourselves immune to long range fire.

2, We should also design a micro-pulse scatter gun - ultra short and focused lazer bursts linked to a multi-facceted diffraction crystal to create a shotgun-blast like cone of many tiny armor penetrating points (to be used against enemies which have a pressure suit; a few hits at long range will have a long term debilitating effect as air leaks)

Hell if I know.  Pretty humourous suggestion, but utterly useless in the case of roleplaying, if indeed the whole game world was one whole huge ass field of fruit.

Cool game!

Immediate efforts must be toward self-sustainment, that is Flower farm, heating (use the reactor and geothermal energy) and such.
I'd recommand direct reactor heating for Flowers. Place the reactor in a central place, preferably directly underside the flower chamber, which in the end should be covered by earthworks and greenhouse glass. Said glass being covered by earth during the night for insulation.

For geothermy, note that mars being smaller and less active than earth, it's colder underground, relatively speaking. But insulation is the same.

Also, Mars's crust is several times thicker then Earth's. You'd barely get any heat untill you go very deep.

When you think about it we would generate body heat right, and so would our minions, so if we stayed underground with enough minions or spent enough time underground then the rock (I would say earth but that would make it confusing) would trap the eat and it would slowly get warmer

(And cool, people are using my name, YAY!)

Well, the issue is, it would radiate away faster than we could sustain it, unless we had access to a large, large amount of nutrition. Fusion is really our best bet for power, if we can build more reactors. As for lacking heat, these drones don't appear to need sleep or much sustenance. We can just have one dig indefinitely until it heats up, and then convection will take care of our problems.

I'd go for an actual original design or the thing described in the Gm's notes. We're described as many legged insects, I seem to remember, so aliens are out. There's no reason to be humanoid either, so we can scrap the Zerg too.
