When it rains, it pours.

Time to go for a delightful stroll. These dwarves are above ground, too. A tribe of eternally blood soaked dwarves. Time to have some fun.

Mine roll around in Dwarf blood snow. Or rain, either one really. Snow looks nicer though.

To this day the elven warrior castes hunt the enemies of nature for the purpouse of bringing back slain intelligent beings for consumption by their leaders and generals, for the good of nature and the survival of elvenkind.

And that is the story of how napalm was invented.

I currently have this on my embark. Funny that dwarves only get a mild unhappy thought from it, you would think they would be more disturbed that its blood from their own race, but apparently not.

They probably have no way to tell. And assume it is elf blood.

Surely that would be a happy thought?

Well I assume you'd get shocked maybe the first time, but after a while it would seem to be a normal occurrence to you. Not to mention the only ones that would be disturbed would be the ones that are squeamish, as the source is never really discovered. And Dwarves are not squeamish.

[...] as the source is never really discovered.

Where does blood rain come from, anyways?

Are evil biomes just the lands underneath the celestial meatpacking district? Do they attract flesh comets which melt as they enter the atmosphere? Are there trillions of magical bacteria which reproduce by opening microscopic portals in their hosts' bloodstreams, hoping that their offspring will randomly appear over the heads of future hosts? IT'S JUST A GAME IT'S JUST A GAME IT'S JUST A GAME

What do you suppose is done with all the blood left over in arena mode?
So yes, I guess you could call that a 'meatpacking' district.

If that were the case, it would only rain aardvark and human blood for me.

Or, perhaps it has to do with those evil clouds. Husks have no blood, right? Perhaps it's because the husk-causing clouds leech the blood out, and then return up to the sky where it eventually rains back down.

Maybe everyone who dies in an evil biome has his/her/its soul tied to the land, and has to either possess something or be tortured. The lucky end up possessing thralls and zombies; the unlucky provide blood rain.
