I hope the two years of Spanish I've taken doesn't fail me now. Also, same base location. Because it's a pretty sweet location, and hasn't failed me yet.
As you may have noticed, in single player, build times are like 4x as long. It's a bit of a pain. Research is like 2x as long.
I catch a UFO meandering about. Base location = Found. Not that it matter much with an AI, the AI is pretty random in it's UFO dispatchment.
I crash a small over in America.
It is quickly annihilated by Patrick.
I land at a small in the middle of the night. This is -semi- ok, though it does significant increase your chances of losing a soldier.
I asked over DFC Steam Chat for some claims. Burnt Pies requests this. (Incendiary rounds)
Oh. It's
really dark out there.
I get some electroflares to light up the place.
The silly alien opens fire on our invulnerable tank, and is swiftly dealt with.
Expect this a lot. AI loves its Small Scouts.
This time, however, I get cocky, and lose a soldier in the process. He was one of our snipers.
I crash a medium.
The wonderful throwing that is X-com reveals itself. Now that guy is stuck out there.
He probably hit the wings of the Skyranger, though.
The tank is lost, because I thought I could survive a flurry of plasma at that range. Easily replaceable, though.
The aliens are quickly dealt with one at a time, blindly running outside.
A medium lands right next to our base. I quickly intercept it. Also, snipers can apparently fire under the Skyranger from this position. Very nice.
The last few aliens are dispatched. Maybe I should have played on hard, even though the aliens would have Mutons by February.
I crash a UFO in Europe. Aliens could be hiding anywhere....
I snipe a few of them. Whenever a small launcher is first used, I always flip, thinking the Aliens are hiding somewhere tossing grenades. However, no damage done. AI is also too stupid to realize you can't stun tanks.
Burnt finely get's some use, setting the alien on fire and knocking it unconscious(however, we still don't have alien containment....)
A combination of autocannon and sniper fire cleans up the remaining aliens. No casualties.
I have finished Laser Rifles, and switch into small launchers. Small launchers are just so awesome. I've started including two in my armies as standard.
Another medium scout intercepted. It appears the enemy went floater research first. I
hate floaters.
A flurry of sniper and rifle shots cleans it up.
Yip! However, without rifles, these floaters can't do any damage from that range.
Rockets, sniper shots, and incendiary rounds brings an end to this menace.
Getting probably waaay overconfident, I land at a medium scout at 65% light level. Against a human opponent, this would be suicide....
Two Sectoids are sniped in the back.
...and who said motion sensors don't come in handy?
Burst fire, at close range. The recruit can't miss, right?
WRONG. I swear, I should probably just suicide this recruit, he'd be more useful that way, by freeing up space for someone more competent. Nevertheless, a second burst kills the alien.
February!..and that means monies! But what should I spend it on? Bay12, what is your suggestion? I have about 5 million, 65 scientists, and 20 engineers.

SummaryWe're doing very well, which is making this boring. I should have probably included some of my house rules, like no recruiting new soldiers. Oh well, we'll see where this goes.
