Simple suggestion, in the jobs menu there should be an option where you can zoom to the goal of a "get/collect this item" job.  For example the infamous Cannot collect Web spam once you breach the caverns.
I noticed when you view the job you can see what Urist's trying to collect, (I am assuming that message comes up once Urist has chosen the target  before doing any mental path finding), However you cannot zoom to the location of the item in question that's giving them no end of trouble.

As stated at the beginning it would be nice to be able to zoom to that job's goal as well as the workshop or the dwarf trying to do the job.

Makes sense to me.

Agreed. Really, for any alert message, you should be able to zoom to the cause.

Perhaps link the Jobs screen to the announcements screen. As it stands now I'm not sure if it's possible to catch those spam-cancelled jobs while they're still viewable on the Jobs screen.

Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

You'd need to be able to zoom from the cancellation message.  Once it gets cancelled it's not on the jobs screen any longer.

I mean in the brief window after the dwarf takes it and before it's cancelled. I've tried rapidly tapping either u or j in order to try and catch the job before it gets cancelled, but I've yet to manage it.

That's what I tried the other day.  you can catch it if you pause quick enough with it still being in the "View Jobs" bit.  But alas you can't zoom there either, nor can you see the "tsk" next to anything tasked in the Stocks (Where you can in fact zoom to the objects in question)
