13.The Yridian Fleet has been assigned a new captain as previous one have retired. The 'newcomer' is called Han Zoku, obviously of asian descent. His command seat is at USS Kirkland, as Starfleet Command, per it's old habits, won't let him get on better ship before he gets some field experience.
The son of late Captain Euchre Jack has just finished his captainship course at Federation Council. Whilst he is clearly getting in steps of his father, he shall now take command of USS Andromede, and Oberth-class scout in the fleet of Captain Neer Dell. At Yridia Shipyards, construction of few more Ambassadors and Oberths is scheduled to replenish local task forces.
USS Sandhusky is completed at Yridia. Along with it, a light cruiser, colony ship and transport will be dispatched. Yes, our intent is to colonize and fortify Ariannus system, giving us an ability to scout and quite possibly strike the very heart of Romulan Star Empire - Romulus system.
Klignons prove to exist! Our Ambassador to Ferengi Alliance just reported that the little traders are at war with the Klingon Empire, with whom we haven't had official contact yet. One can wonder where that Empire is located and how large it is if it can wage a war against the Ferengi.
Breakthrough in Computers! The Council have decided that Malurian will be ideal place - it is quite advanced to promise fast construction of the facility and it's far away from borders, increasing safety. At Shelia, Bioengineering Lab is completed. We shifted 5% of research from Biology to Weapons.
Ambassador-clas cruiser, USS Fury, is completed at Yridian Yard in the same day.
Suddenly, Romulans struck from the shadows at the fleet stationed in Ariannus system. Cpt.Jarod Cain has bee ordered to retreat from overwhelming force. During retreat, USS Boston was destroyed by Romulans.
1st and 2nd RNZ Task Forces were ordered to join and together try to intercept and destroy the Romulan fleet.
More bad news.
Even more bad news!
The transport at Yridia is complete - aforementioned convoy departed for Altec system, where support ships will stay and cruiser with scout shall try and join Cpt.Cain's fleet.
As you can see, we met Klingons and their brothers Chalnoth at system in middle of Ferengi space. We immediatelly sent a gift and friendship proposal to the honourable warriors. Who knows, maybe with our donations, they will be able to plunge Ferengi into a conflict, distracting them from our borders in turn.
Oh, and Genesis Lab is completed at Shelia - another 5% from Biology, this time, into Construction research.
Colony is founded next week, our weapons get better. Galaxy-class cruisers are available, we will be building few of these soon.
Remember that green star near Chalna? Yep, that's where Selay are living.
Oooh, Klingons aren't that weak as we have thought. Yridian scout reports several battle cruisers, few destroyers and two outposts in the vicinity of Ferengi space. As Klingons asked us for donation, we eagerly provided them with it.
And the last of news are, of course, shipyard news: USS Cortes, Oberth-class, finished at Yridia and added to Cpt.Zoku's fleet.
Week later we got a report from Yridian scout. Klingon fleet seems to have been either relocated or partially obliterated, and Ferengi in turn amassed their warships in this unknown system. We've sent Klingons a monetary gift to help them with their economy.
Of course we've agreed. Immediatelly we sent another friendship proposal with another gift attached to it. Hopefully we will make some 'powerful' friends in this galaxy which is apparently bent on causing us grief every damn turn.
Oooh, I almost forgot - Both RNZ Task Forces just escorted colony and transport ships to Ariannus, where terraforming and outpost construction began right away!
Another bonus for you guys:
As you can see, bribing away Chalnoth from Klingons wouldn't be wise (we're really going for Cardassians/Romulans only), and as rumors go, getting friendly with Selay cause Anticans go angry even if they're your members, so we won't be pursuing them as well. Secondly, they're potential Klingon allies. And thirdly; weakly protected member world in middle of enemy territory? No thanks.
//God damn that Romulan attack was scary! I felt cold for a moment after the initial cloak attack, but miracles happened and we lost only one destroyer.
