Yay, ambassador ships!

The whole supernova got me thinking, that's the reason for the plot behind the Star Trek Reboot Movie.

Sorry to dissappoint you, but I meant Illi Kor, as you're in other place of Federation space :P

And that movie was the worst of all ;v

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Our scouts discover that there's wormhole at the edge of Ferengi space! They shall explore it, and one of them shall be sent through it. Hopefully, they will be able to get back.
Captain Neer Dell has been sent to patrol outer Cardassian space and see if we can't destroy an outpost or maybe an unprotected supply convoy.
USS Berkeley was constructed at Yridia - it is the twentieth and the last of the ordered Miranda-class destroyers.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Next week, Captain Jarod Cain reports successful strike at Kurill outpost, however, he lost both Oberths assigned to him - USS Alacrity and USS Cavalier. He was ordered to retreat to Quadra Sigma whilst Cpt.Kor and his fleet shall enter Melina system and try to find and destroy any ships and outposts.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sheliak joined the Federation! They of course maintained their 'superior' point of view, but in time, they will learn we're no worse than them. It's yet another culture with technology superior to our own. Feels almost like cheating. Oh, and they have three destroyer-type vessels in orbit - they will be left alone to protect the system unless emergency of any kind arises.
From shipyard news: USS Martynov, Oberth-class, Yridia. USS Hawkesbury, Ambassador-class, Takara. Starfleet is growing pretty strong at the moment!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Captain Neer Dell engaged the outpost and a cruiser stationed there. Initial Miranda attack was disasterous - we lost two of them before the cruiser was decimated. Then, during the run at outpost, we couldn't damage the hull until USS Montreal engaged the warp engines and slammed against the outpost, taking it out with itself.
In the end, only USS Everett, Cpt.Dell's flagship, remained. He is stricken with guilt and melancholy, and has been ordered for a shore leave as USS Everett is repaired. As soon as Captain is back in shape, he shall join Takaran Task Force at the Ferengi border.
Funeral service for the crews of USS L'aventure, USS Montreal, USS Rockford, USS Brunswick and USS Coronado was conducted at Friday, 2200 hours.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The exploration of the wormhole ended in tragedy as well. We lost contact with the Yridian scout soon after it entered the phenomena.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As our scientists manage to understand the principles of Metagenics, the Council is tempted to put both Sheliak Biolab and our own Genesis Lab together.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Before the other scout left the wormhole's vicinity, it also sent us scans of what's might be Ferengi homeworld and twelve different subpsace distortions, varying from as small as scouts to ones comparable to our Ambassador-class cruisers.

Two weeks later USS Quiberon, Ambassador-class cruiser, is completed at Takara. It was sent to Dimorus, where USS Everett with Cpt.Dell on board will arrive shortly. For now, it's quiet on all fronts, albeit we remain vigilant.
Federation Council also decided that Shelia system shall host both biology institutes - Sheliaks' and our own.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Comet strikes Altec, saboteurs strike Takara. Those two systems have hard time this year.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Phase Bonding technology allows us to improve the sturdiness of our constructions. All of the Miranda-class vessels had undergone a (much needed) refit in just one week.
As USS Everett arrived at Dimorus, Captain Neer Dell is given a choice to take the seat of command upon one of Ambassador-class cruisers: Crescent, Quiberon or Hawkesbury. The choice is his to make. Yridian scout is reporting of a build-up of Cardassian forces at the border outpost, just two weeks of warp travel away from Delta Vega, so I would like to hear if Cpt.Dell wants to take care of this hostile force.

At the end of the update, here comes a galaxy map. Also try to guess where Klingons are squeezed, because according to relationships chart, only Ferengi know where they are:

Spoiler: Le Galaxy Map (click to show/hide)

//Also, Euchre Jack, you don't want to be re-captained? :P

I wouldn't mind stepping up as a captain, despite the short life-spans of the destroyers. I'm hoping the refit lets me survive long enough to earn a sturdier ship.

The Yridian Fleet has been assigned a new captain as previous one have retired. The 'newcomer' is called Han Zoku, obviously of asian descent. His command seat is at USS Kirkland, as Starfleet Command, per it's old habits, won't let him get on better ship before he gets some field experience.
The son of late Captain Euchre Jack has just finished his captainship course at Federation Council. Whilst he is clearly getting in steps of his father, he shall now take command of USS Andromede, and Oberth-class scout in the fleet of Captain Neer Dell. At Yridia Shipyards, construction of few more Ambassadors and Oberths is scheduled to replenish local task forces.

USS Sandhusky is completed at Yridia. Along with it, a light cruiser, colony ship and transport will be dispatched. Yes, our intent is to colonize and fortify Ariannus system, giving us an ability to scout and quite possibly strike the very heart of Romulan Star Empire - Romulus system.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Klignons prove to exist! Our Ambassador to Ferengi Alliance just reported that the little traders are at war with the Klingon Empire, with whom we haven't had official contact yet. One can wonder where that Empire is located and how large it is if it can wage a war against the Ferengi.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Breakthrough in Computers! The Council have decided that Malurian will be ideal place - it is quite advanced to promise fast construction of the facility and it's far away from borders, increasing safety. At Shelia, Bioengineering Lab is completed. We shifted 5% of research from Biology to Weapons.
Ambassador-clas cruiser, USS Fury, is completed at Yridian Yard in the same day.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Suddenly, Romulans struck from the shadows at the fleet stationed in Ariannus system. Cpt.Jarod Cain has bee ordered to retreat from overwhelming force. During retreat, USS Boston was destroyed by Romulans.
1st and 2nd RNZ Task Forces were ordered to join and together try to intercept and destroy the Romulan fleet.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

More bad news.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Even more bad news!
The transport at Yridia is complete - aforementioned convoy departed for Altec system, where support ships will stay and cruiser with scout shall try and join Cpt.Cain's fleet.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As you can see, we met Klingons and their brothers Chalnoth at system in middle of Ferengi space. We immediatelly sent a gift and friendship proposal to the honourable warriors. Who knows, maybe with our donations, they will be able to plunge Ferengi into a conflict, distracting them from our borders in turn.
Oh, and Genesis Lab is completed at Shelia - another 5% from Biology, this time, into Construction research.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Colony is founded next week, our weapons get better. Galaxy-class cruisers are available, we will be building few of these soon.
Remember that green star near Chalna? Yep, that's where Selay are living.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oooh, Klingons aren't that weak as we have thought. Yridian scout reports several battle cruisers, few destroyers and two outposts in the vicinity of Ferengi space. As Klingons asked us for donation, we eagerly provided them with it.
And the last of news are, of course, shipyard news: USS Cortes, Oberth-class, finished at Yridia and added to Cpt.Zoku's fleet.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Week later we got a report from Yridian scout. Klingon fleet seems to have been either relocated or partially obliterated, and Ferengi in turn amassed their warships in this unknown system. We've sent Klingons a monetary gift to help them with their economy.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Of course we've agreed. Immediatelly we sent another friendship proposal with another gift attached to it. Hopefully we will make some 'powerful' friends in this galaxy which is apparently bent on causing us grief every damn turn.
Oooh, I almost forgot - Both RNZ Task Forces just escorted colony and transport ships to Ariannus, where terraforming and outpost construction began right away!

Another bonus for you guys:
Spoiler: Relationship Table (click to show/hide)

As you can see, bribing away Chalnoth from Klingons wouldn't be wise (we're really going for Cardassians/Romulans only), and as rumors go, getting friendly with Selay cause Anticans go angry even if they're your members, so we won't be pursuing them as well. Secondly, they're potential Klingon allies. And thirdly; weakly protected member world in middle of enemy territory? No thanks.

//God damn that Romulan attack was scary! I felt cold for a moment after the initial cloak attack, but miracles happened and we lost only one destroyer.

You need to bribe a peace with the Feriengi.  If they die...somebody else might win.

Klingons, if Cardassians die as well.
Romulans, if we die as well :P

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Klingons formed a non-aggression treaty with us, and are currently thinking over our friendship proposal. As we acquired the map of their Empire, we began to wonder how they managed to defend themselves against Ferengi for so long with just four star systems. We shall fund their fleets for a while longer.

Next week, Klingons reject our treaty and Cardassian scout is obliterated at Yridia.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We have trading treaty with Klingons! Yridia, Takara and Sol systems have been linked with Klingon worlds.

From shipyard news: We're currently constructing a fleet at Shelia and Takara - it shall consist of 3 mirandas, 2 Ambassadors and 2 Oberths. It will be stationed at Morikin or Delta Vega.
At Yridia, construction of another fleet started, as well as 4 Galaxy-class cruisers. They will be possibly sent to our Captains as new flagships. We're still considering the possibilities.

Next week, Yridian scout is flushed out of Selay by Ferengi and ends in Klingon space. Just great.
Our trading treaty brings us weekly revenue of 182 credits (and slowly growing), which, considering Klingon Empire size, is quite a lot.

Week later, Ariannus system is fortified, and colonization will occur in few weeks after terraforming of last, arctic planet is finished. At Takara, USS Alameda, a Miranda-class destroyer, is constructed and sent to Shelia.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We colonize Emilia system, Ferengi steal some of our construction research (gotta beef up internal security), Daystrom Institute is completed at Malurian system (5% research shifted from Computers to Weapons) aaand a light cruiser USS Isis is completed at Shelia.

Next week, USS Straford, Miranda, at Takara, sent to Shelia. Yridian scout again had to evacuate from Shelia, and ended at Chalna. It has been decided that the Scout shall be on move again to spy a little at Cardassians. There's small build-up of Ferengi forces at Armus, so Cpt.Dell and his fleet were ordered to intercept any enemy ship entering our space.

Also, both RNZ Task Forces have been sent to Kurill to destroy local Romulan outpost. Hopefully there's no cloaked fleet waiting for us nearby...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They haven't had one already? That's new.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Battle at Kurill system wasn't that hard, and our combined task forces received minimal damage.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Bleh, terrorists again!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This is however much more destructive strike against us. As far as reports go, we have lost all of the research we had on next level of Computers.
In the same time we colonize Ariannus system, former Romulan colony.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Our RNZ Task Forces have been ordered to destroy this outpost as well. No sight of Romulan starships, besides a pair of scouts looming near Morikin system.

For the end of this update, shipyard news: Two Mirandas completed at Takara and Yridia; USS Brittain and USS Lantree (Mirandas), and USS Norman, Ambassador-class, at Shelia.

As far as command promotions go, Cpt.Euchre Jack Jr. is offered the seat at Ambassador cruiser in the slowly forming Delta Vega fleet. He has two to pick from: USS Norman and USS Isis. He can take command of Miranda-class destroyer if he doesn't feel ready for bigger ship, though.
Cpt.Han Zoku is as well given command of one of Ambassadors, at Yridia Task Force. These are USS Warakurna, USS Iroquis and USS Montgomery.

I select the USS Iroquis as my flagship, and heave a sigh of relief to have a more capable ship as my flagship while I coordinate the Yridian Taskforce.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Just as expected, we destroy the second Romulan outpost with ease and minimal casualties.
USS Stingray and USS Barracuda, two Oberths, are completed at Shelia and Takara, respectively. As soon as they join Cpt.Euchre Jack, the fleet shall depart for Delta Vega.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Goddamn terrorists and goddamn Ferengi. They're everywhere. Bah.
Miranda destroyer, USS Tian An Men, is completed at Yridia.
RNZ Task Forces are returning to Quadra Sigma.

Next week, completely nothing interesting happens.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

*sigh*
Our Yridian scout had to warp away from Cardassian space, but managed to warp into unclaimed sector, where it shall remain to perform sensor sweeps. Apparently all of Cardassian fleet moved to Harod.
USS Sitak, Miranda-class starship, completed at Yridia.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

TERRORISTS, Y U NO GO ELSEWHERE!?
Also, we sent Klingons some money. We don't know how they fare against Ferengi but it's better to have the midgets preoccupied in their war against the brutes.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This happens next week. Did I mention I'm building databanks like mad for 20 turns already? Cardassians and Romulans must've mass-produced Phoenix Facilities, which boost Intelligence by 300
Another Miranda at Yridia - USS ShirKahr.

Next week...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We knew this will happen one day. We had time to prepare, but we were caught off-guard. Besides few millions of Mintakans scattered around Federation space, no one survived from the apocalypse. And yet again, our Intelligence HQ was obliterated. Honestly, we have some bad luck there...
Mercury got shifted into barren planet, btw.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Suddenly, Klingons want alliance. I will await input from valuable Captains, but Federation population in general is happy at the prospect of allies.
USS Valdemar A, Ambassador-class cruiser, is completed at Yridia. Three more and an Oberth are in queue, which will form a fleet. Valdemar's registry is NCC-11313, and few say that this number is a bad omen. I hope it's not true.
However, due to destruction of Mintaka and quite possibly heavy bombardment of a Klingon world, our income dropped from +900 to +350, so Starfleet Command decided to postpone construction of Galaxy-class cruisers until further notice.

Another tragedy! I weep for the mintakans. We should ally with the klingons, even if they are only looking for a fight, we cannot stand alone in this dangerous place.
