A question on learning.
« on: June 18, 2012, 03:35:39 pm »

So, I found this thing recently while seeing if there was anyone actually doing that kind of thing or if youtube was just full of random gibberish and anime and vocaloid in that area. I've watched a bit of it, and the thing I wanted to ask about is why it seems easier to focus on than reading the same kind of lesson, or hearing someone calmer and more instructorish say it. I know theres visual learners and audio learning, and so on, I just was curious to see what you guys thought of it and maybe an answer to my question as well. Theres some swearing in it, but its hardly the worst thing I've heard on youtube by far.

Youtube hides awesome gems like that. I have a huge course on roman architecture I am slowly watching, for example.

As for your question ... I don't know. I have to admit, I'm curious as well. It might be because it's on the internet : it's a screen, perhaps you have headphones on. Like cinema and tv, computers tend to capture all of your attention quite easily.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Can we turn this into a thread with links to Youtube courses?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Here's the MIT Thermodynamics course. Hell, Here's the MIT account. You'll find courses on Microeconomics, Psychology, Electromagnetism, Classical Mechanics, Calculus and EECS (Electrical Eng'g and Comp. Sci.). All in all, very useful.
