Based on the first page (of up to six whole ones, in total, at the moment), I'm still unsure whether the question is about just on this forum, or everywhere.
Since I first registered on bay12forums, I've been Starver. And even though I've long since stopped (habitually, unavoidably, ineffectually) starving my dwarves, I shall doubtless remain so until and unless something happens like severe and irrecoverable electronic dislocation[1], at which point I have a choice of something that's an obvious successor name, or going out on a new limb. So insofar as Bay12 (including Mantis, I believe, but been a while since I've used that in anger), it's one and one alone, cheers. Until I drop off the net, as far as I can say.
But this is the
only place I'm known as Starver, and I'm only known as Starver here. (No sockpuppets
, except for my ToadyOne one). I have a number of other identities in other areas. None of them are anything
like Starver, and I maintain separate existences (albeit that I might be just as wordy). Really, I could be Notch, Jick, Kevan or Randall Monroe[2], on other forums for all you know. Hell, I could be George W. Bush, or Boris Johnson or Flora Macdonald or Lilly Marlene, for all you know! And when I
am being
Flora Macdonald any of my other personae, that is the sole personae for that area[3].
In short, I tend to universally keep true to a single and perpetual identity<=>location mapping where I'm being me; where I'm expected to be character then I go
really schizophrenic (inter-self denying) w.r.t. in-game content, while still being an active hive-mind conglomerate insofar as OOC communications.
(So, what are pages 2-6 now discussing?)
[1] e.g. forgotten to rearrange things if/when I change my contact email address, and then much later on forget the password to this place, with no realistic way of getting access back except perhaps through the judgement of Toady or a duly elected minion. (This situation having effectively happened before, elsewhere.)
[3] Except that I'm not even
on XKCD forums, or else I'd point out things like the
http://xkcd.com/1069/ hover-text indicating that he'd be happy to make "make out" into "mace out", which sounds a whole lot less romantic.
[3] With the exception of a MUD that I partake in, where I have multiple characters for multiple classes, but I always make sure they stay away from each other (memetically... and I'm not interested in getting around the restrictions made against parallel-playing, because I'd never want to do that anyway). And, where it counts, the connection is made obvious.
