Don't know much about the BNP, but from what I've heard they're something like the Aryan Guard.

He had other more politically correct options, he picked the one that prioritized OBL's death over all other consequences and I have to respect that.

If you think about it, he picked the option that maximised his political cred at the cost of jeopardizing relations with Pakistan. In other words, he technically picked the wrong move on a global scale, but the best move on a national scale, because who cares about Pakistan, that Bin Laden prick is dead.

Why does anyone think nationalism is a good thing? Why?

I've glanced over the BNP's wikipedia page greatorder posted, and it doesn't look to be nationalism at all. It looks to be an ethnicity based movement like the Ku Klux Klan or Aryan Guard.

As for why anyone thinks nationalism is a good thing, I don't know either. But I've run into enough nationalistic poison from my own countrymen to know that it's a ridiculous tenet to ever hold. Also,

Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind.

Nationalism could be an expression of very basic human ideas of tribalism and 'us vs. them' sorts of mentalities. Whatever group you belong to should be considered above any other groups.

Then again, nationalism as we understand it is a pretty recent invention.

Not sure what this or fringe political groups like the BNP has to do with the president or the elections though.

One more thing before getting back on the rails.

I find this quote from their wikipedia page absolutely hilarious.
Quote
The party states that it "has moved on in recent years, casting off the leg-irons of conspiracy theories and the thinly veiled anti-semitism which has held this party back for two decades. The real enemies of the British people are home grown Anglo-Saxon Celtic liberal-leftists ... and the Crescent Horde—the endless wave of Islamics who are flocking to our shores to bring our island nations into the embrace of their barbaric desert religion"
TOTALLY AN IMPROVEMENT GUYS

To be fair, I would totally sign up with a faith that was called THE CRESCENT HORDE. Whoever made that statement had a real flair for the dramatic.

I can't help but point out the irony of them condemning Islam as a 'barbaric desert religion' unless they are all Celtic neopaganists or something? Seems like the pot calling the kettle black.

I don't think the country will be in any better shape with either Obama or Romney. Both seem like pretentious jerks to me with too many dollars and not enough sense. I'm preparing for the USA to collapse into ruin and getting ready for the fun to start. I won't be voting this year, but that's mostly because I have been putting off getting my voter registration transferred to where I live now.

I don't think Romney has much of a chance of winning anyway. Although in the area I live, all you hear about is how Obama is a socialist commie-nazi who wants to abort your babies and convert everyone to Islam. So it makes me subconsciously think Romney has somewhat of a chance...

People who want to run for office probably aren't good at it.
People who would be great at it don't want to bother running, its too much money, effort, and insults.

When you get the chance, ask the people who say those kind of things how they feel about Mormons and you'll see why Romney doesn't have an advantage either.

I would just want one of the Muslamic Ray Guns.

I'm votin' Oooooobama. The right wing of this country has gone totally batshit insane. Not like my vote will matter, he'll get my state no matter what we do.

I fully intend to put together an internet campaign to run for president when I turn 35. Seriously. I may turn out like Vermin Supreme, but hey, why not? It's still "We the People," right?

Don't doubt the growing power of the Internet.

I also intend to run for public office Eventually(TM). Hopefully after I've got my career squared away and have some money to my name, but plans are made to be broken so I don't have one.

Oh, I don't. I don't really expect to crowdsource a viable campaign for presidency, but hey, why not give it a try?
