I know i'm a little late to the party, but i'd like to get in on this
I've got a couple years of solo dorf under my belt, but i've never done anything with the community, as evidenced by the fact that this account was made today

Give me a mechanic and name him 'Butts'
I have big plans for this fort
Big... Plans....

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

I'm skerred to continue lol, but it isn't prospective... the roof is still open, and they go pew pew, it's a long trek for the hammer dwarves to engage... so i've been trying to figure out how to get them inside the fort, yet controlable...

Still working on it, sorry for the delay (I also made a backup save of when the siege first occured, so if I fail horribly, someone else may take the reigns)

just get your marksdwarves in under the hole so they can shoot up. dont worry if a whole load of dwarves get horribly killed thats all part of the Fun!

maybe build another drawbridge inside the entrance that will cut off entry to the rest of the fortress like an airlock. quite a few should get mangled by the traps anyway, if you injure enough of them the rest should retreat.

if you get some screenshots up we can give you more advice perhaps.

I think you will be OK, the cremated axes are a mighty force. I vote we continue no matter what happens we can always reclaim if we lose early on

+1

The Cremated Axes will let their hammers speak. The goblins will hear them and die.

Felsite 28th, The siege... is over but at great costs.

We began with a military of 20, once the siege was lifted, we are down to 8, how many will survive their wounds is unknown, but the siege is over.

http://imgur.com/3dUiO

8th of Heminite:
We've replenished the ranks as best as possible, back to having 20 training, the war zones are cleared and everything is back to normal, save for 12 dead brethren.

5th Malachite:
We went through a large number of ammunition, it seems we are out, regardless that all spent rounds found in the battlefield were reclaimed... For now we have more than enough bones, and the craftsdwarves are set on non-stop crafting of bone ammo. Also, deeper down (Z level 90) I ordered a major cavern to be dug out for the purpose of accumulating stone to crate stone crafts to trade with. Instead we have come across a large amount of various ores and gems. Those who come after may want to know that it's mineral rich in that area.

Also in the aftermath it appears that Etur Vesendok is now the mayor. Winter's wife must have stepped down after the battle. Anyway it's a new amount of mandates coming, production of certain... unnamed goods. He is also 13...

13th Malachite: More migrants, good, here soon a secondary barracks will be constructed so that we will have the numbers for the next encounter.

25th Malachite, our child-mayor, has gone insane... Great. This will go over well.Besmer has resumed the role of Mayor.
