Got bitten by wereape, but no curse?
« on: June 16, 2012, 05:05:59 pm »

Early on in my current adventurer's career, he picked a fight with some kobolds only to find that he should have checked the rest of the room to make sure there were not a dozen others at the far end.  He made it out, but both feet had nerve damage and he could no longer stand.  He decided to fix this by getting bitten by the local wereape.  He did, but two full moons later, he hasn't transformed.  Even went to a desert and stayed outside the entire time the moon was full and risen, with clear skies.  Nothing.

What an enormous waste of time.  Two in-game months, and half my RL day gone.

So, what happened?

Diso Faintpuzzles was born in 120.  Although accounts vary it is universally agreed that Diso was chosen by fate as the vanguard of destiny.

In the early spring of 143 Diso began wandering the wilds.

In the early spring of 143 Diso starved to death in the Horn of Striking.

Did it break muscle tissue?

You can get bitten and it just cause light bruising, on account of armour/clothes blocking it from actually drawing blood.

Did it tear?

If it tears, it automatically passes armour, causing a 100% chance of infection. So what Corai said basically.

That makes sense.  I recall the two bites causing bruises.  Shame that's not on the wiki.

Another day lost to DF.  Why the hell do I keep playing this game?
