Removing [multiple_litter_rare] from your dwarves should make it easier to get statistically significant amounts of data.

I'm trying to modify the dwarfexport plugin to DFHack to also write preference and family data. Or maybe I'll do something with lua? Either way, it'll make it much easier to collaborate and collect data.

For now, if people could keep their saves that would be ideal. That way I won't have to manually type up everyone's screenshots.
That would be great!  It would make collecting geneaological data on a fortress so much easier.  Could it also collect the appearance data?

I'll keep the saves from this fortress specifically for this study.  Fortress Tradescorched on The Planet of Dawn, under 34.11.

Edit: In the year 280.

I'm 90% sure it can. Lua looks like the best bet, so I'll have to learn it first. Hopefully it can output to a file. If not, people might have to copy+paste. Can't be 100% sure until I figure it out, but hopefully it'll work. If that doesn't work I'm sure I can change the dfhack plugin (if I can get the damn thing to compile, ugh).

Already have a sample size of ~500 dwarves. That should be enough for some initial results if I can get my parser working again.

care to share the raw data? is it in a format that can be imported by statistical software? (e.g. csv?)

Right now it's in kind of a horrible format and I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote that lua file. If I have time I'll reformat it into something more universal and post it.

It was useful enough as is that I was able to spot two WWid Dwarves who should have be labelled MomWid Dwarves.   :)  My data is from a 256-Dwarf fortress, by the way.

Great. It'll be nice to compare the random results to a more natural fort.

? and they are ?

ah. they are in the first post
so. what is that number actually? how did you calculate it? it takes values greater than 1 so it's not the correlation coefficient ...
