About the ARMA: II mod, DayZ

Hello thar.

I was just wondering if i could get away with using Arma: II Free and the Operation Arrowhead Demo for the DayZ instead of having to buy that stuff.

The reason i think this might work is that both the demo´s have the full engines, multiplayer and map editor. The only thing you get for paying the full price is the singleplayer campaigns.

Does anyone know about this?

You probobly should've asked in the Day Z thread, but what's done is done I suppose.

AFAIK no, you can't use the free version to play Day Z, though I don't know why.

As far as I know neither the OA Demo nor ArmaII:Free have mod support (it was cut down for obvious reasons  :P).

Dayz is a mod, so you should not be able to run it. There are some ways to save some money (search for CO Lite in the BI forums), but as a combined ops user im not very sure of them.

There should be a way to do it, having both the engines, the scripts and all that.

I don't think that they will though. Its something to get more people buying the main game.

You can't(on legit servers, anyway; probably possible on private/lan). You can, however use the free arma(shit grafics) with paid OA.
