Human appears and gives announcement?
« on: June 14, 2012, 07:24:08 pm »

I was playing a fortress today, and shortly after the elven caravan showed up (along with a kobold thief), I recieved a message. It was just like the messages you get for FBs, but it wasn't an FB. It was an above-ground human. The unit screen showed him as friendly, but dwarves still ran away from him. After spawning, he walked around for a few seconds and then left. Has anyone else seen something like this? I've never seen or heard of it before.

Might have been a werebeast that arrived at the wrong time, and thus not at beast form.

werebeast that appeared while not transformed. Amusing, but harmless since it won't fight you in human form and runs away almost immediately. If you get one that has transformed, kill any dwarves it injures, or just prepare for !!FUN!!

That should be a new type of project, making a rug design in dwarf fortress (With accurate coloring)

I had a were-lizard appear in the middle of a siege. It walked around a bit, killed a few goblins, then transformed into a snake-man, which I didn't know was possible. Anywy, he was killed a litttle bit after that, and I didn't do anything. I was focuesd on other things, but it was a funny interlude.

Better idea - quarantine them and use them for science!

Make were-beast squads. Much more fun.
