we have silicon for 2 nanites; i proposed that we finish a gathering nanite, and build a larger aluminium antenna, without specifying a use for the second silicon glob.

the "finish the nanites" request can't work, as we don't have the materials for it.

Hell if I know.  Pretty humourous suggestion, but utterly useless in the case of roleplaying, if indeed the whole game world was one whole huge ass field of fruit.

I apologize for not updating, I've been out of town, and haven't really had an opportunity to do so.

You add some basic circuitry to the miner and gatherer nanites. They're completely autonomous and extremely simple in their behaviors, but it is sufficient for the task at hand. They begin gathering up aluminum, as well as bits of dust and miscellaneous items that are lying on the surface.

Design a sorting bot that drags material based on composition to different piles, marking off their perimeter by scraping the aluminum with repeating barcodes as they grow so that we can modify the mining/gathering bots to ignore what's been sorted.

Get to work making more silicon as the mine/gather bots do their thing.

(first post in one of these things :3 Always seemed kind of fun)

We don't have nearly enough silicon to waste it on things we can easily do by hand.

Anyway, I think we should begin making a large aluminum spire. See if there's any magnetical field nearby which we can use to produce power. Airmovement will move the spire, resulting in the electromagnetical field producing an electric force in the spire which we can use. Both the magnetic field and the airmovements can be quite small.

Analyze the other assorted detritus.

Standing orders:
If anything other than silicon or cell debris have been pulled over, do a chemical analysis.
Keep a tally of items collected.

Specific orders:build antenna/ tower/ spire thingy (use to be decided based on conditions found a mm or so above the surface -- normal cells are 10- 100um in diameter, so being able to deconstruct something that size means we could create a 1mm Al spire quite easly.)

I suggest that we hold off on anything larger than a speck of dust until we confirm that we're in a secure environment or build our numbers to at least a few dozen.

1. a dozen nanites, though they are in fact a micrometer large, are still bloody useless
2. It won't be that large, maybe a milimeter at most, and that'd be impressive for a micrometer sized nanite
3. We need the engergy

You do indeed need more energy. Your solar panels won't be able to support many more bots.

You construct a very thin aluminum pole about a millimeter long, and manage to pull it upright. You then sauter it to the surface. There is a very, very slight amount of current running through it continiously; enough for, maybe, a single nanite.

There isn't anything of interest around other than small amounts of silica, as you've used all nearby skin cells.

Locate additional sources of carbon and figure out what could be used as a more efficient source of power. If nothing short term, construct additional pylons.

There aren't any obviously apparent sources of carbon, but you have a considerable amount left over from phosphorus refining. Figuring things out is your job.

Are any of our elements radioactive isotopes? Can we harness them that way?

Can we build a windmill?
