Do you think they need a word for it? Then all the other races would find out what it is, and that isn't nearly as fun as it sounds.  Most of  Dwarven language consists of two Dwarves communicating via eyebrow in the dark.

They dont need that many words, they communicate using their beards and sonar sounds.

To be fair we have a list of roots; words like these (I forget the part of speech) aren't derived from roots.

For magma, Dwarves just make spash and explosion sounds while waving thier hands around like complete idiots. Its the natural warning call. Dwarves are just born with it embedded in thier mind, and always know what it means, like birds. To them, when they hear the dreaded explosion/splash yell throughout the fort, its the scariest thing ever.

The.

It can't be translated to Turkish either. Pretty much every language has words that are untranslatable unless you use it with another word to give it a meaning. You can't just translate them to one or two words so you have to drop a translator's note or try to write a giant sentence that describes what it is.

Take a look at this for example: http://matadornetwork.com/abroad/20-awesomely-untranslatable-words-from-around-the-world/

These don't have any counterparts in Polish either.
Instead of "a cat" or "the cat" you would just say "cat" in a sentence. Sometimes replacing it with counterparts of "one cat" or "this cat" when appropriate.

There is no word for booze, but there is a word for barb and a word for ooze. So yesterday I dug the first tunnel of a new fortress, Barbooze.

Well, in lots of languages the word for "one" is the same as the word for "a". Swedish, for instance, uses "en" for both purposes. In Old English, "an" did the same job, and that's where "a" came from.

It's true that context means article could often be omitted. Leaving out article is not very idiomatic, but it could be bold step forward in evolution of English language.

In Dwarfish, singular, plural, and various tenses seem to translate to the exact same word, though, which must get awkward.
