Endless diagnosis fix
« on: June 13, 2012, 01:37:29 am »

How do I get my doctor to stop cycling between diagnosing and cleaning on a single patient?  He started with no skill (the game is trolling me with absolutely no diagnosis skill in any of my migrants) but is now a novice and moving up.  He does five examinations, then a cleaning, then repeats.  This has gone on for 12 cycles and I'm about ready to use DFhack to spawn magma over both of them.

EDIT: Dezoning the hospital did not work, but removing the bed did.

Diso Faintpuzzles was born in 120.  Although accounts vary it is universally agreed that Diso was chosen by fate as the vanguard of destiny.

In the early spring of 143 Diso began wandering the wilds.

In the early spring of 143 Diso starved to death in the Horn of Striking.

Try turning his cleaning skill off. Or enable diagnosis on a different dwarf.

What's the patient's problem, by the way?

I wonder if the game has become odd.

The patient had to be kicked out of bed.  Once that happened, he quickly got fixed up , and now he's up and about, minus a leg.  Giant wolverine tore it off, I think.  Those guys are jerks.

You should have let him keep going until the doctor's skill levels were up to legendary.  ;D

I would, but I need him to attend to other dwarves that are dying of infection.
