I'll be dorf'd as The Prince, a male crossbow dorf, and miner spare time.

EDIT: I suggest the Baron's quarters look out into the caverns, with bridges between the windows and the flying building destroyers, so they can be opened in an emergency.

21st of Obsidian, 280.

I am Lord Lovecraft of Ironorder. In other words King of the loonies. Ironorder is a new breed of fortress you see. It's designed to be a holding cell for... Unstable individuals. An asylum if you will. Now you may be wondering how I got myself in this 'glorius' position. Well you see it was actually my idea. I used to be a noble's son. One day though, during a feast, one of the servants went bonkers and tried to kill someone. He was reduced to a pulp in a matter of seconds. I was mortified that we had executed one of our fellow dwarves instead of trying to get him treatment. I discussed it with my "friends" at length and we came to an agreement that a new sort of fortress should be created, so that these poor souls might not harm their fellow dwarf and so that they can live and aid the moutainhomes. Well turns out the King caught wind of this and decided it was a great idea and that whoever had come up with it would be granted lordship over this new fortress. Instead of agreeing that it was a group effort my so-called friends claimed that I was the soul creator of it. So now I'm on a wagonride to loonieville. Cheers!

@Nerjin Howsabout Speardwarf instead, otherwise you match one of the dwarves marvoulesly.

@Mjattie You are going to have to wait for a little while unless you want to start out as a miner.

I don't mind waiting for a bow/grinding crossbow skill up, so I'll start out as a miner I suppose.

This looks like fun!
Dorf me as a patient. use my username.
He's calm, very slow to anger, logical, level headed, good fighter. His only problem is he suffers from night terrors, and sudden impulses to murder people (but he never has, I promise), so he personally volunteered to join the expedition in the hopes of a cure, mainly because he's afraid he wont be able to contain said urges if it continues. So basically, he's a generally calm person who gets sudden, near-uncontrollable urges to kill the nearest person.
My guy can do jobs too, though. Y'know, just whatever, but preferably something violent. It helps keep his mind off of punching a pregnant woman  in the stomach.

As a completely unrelated side note, a riddle for you:
I march before armies,
a thousand salute me.
My fall can bring victory,
but no one dares shoot me.
The wind is my lover,
and one legged am I.
Name me and see me,
at home in the sky.

That sounds gay. It's not. It's fucking terrifying.

Olin isn't fucking around this time. He knows it'll take more punishment than a BDSM expo in a tornado made out of serrated blades. So he hits it until the head is mush. Then he hits the body until it's got a soupy texture too. When he's done, it doesn't look like a cat. It looks like a fucking meat puddle.

A flag?
Si seņor.

How about this:
A dragon's tooth
in a mortal's hand.
I kill, I maim,
I divide the land.

1st of Granite, 281

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
You may be wondering why I've chosen to start with a diagram of the area. If you will pay close attention it's because there's something very important there. Nothing. Nothing at all. That's our little wagon in the center. A little lower are some plans I've drawn up for the entrance that the others are digging out. Other than that. Nothing. They dropped me in the middle of a forest with a bunch of loons and said good luck. I am not amused. The others also have notebooks like mine. As head of our little asylum I decided it would be best if we all got our feelings out on paper instead of eachother. I haven't bothered to coverse with any of them more than that because I'm quite frankly terrified of them.

In summary.

Cons: Stuck in the middle of nowhere with crazies.
Pros: Nobody's tried to kill anybody... yet.

P.S Some of them are getting along, or at least talking to eachother. Something about riddles and flags?

A knife/dagger/sword?
Jesus Christ you're fast.

Okay smartass:
I make you weak at the worst of all times,
I keep you safe, and I keep you fine.
I make your hands sweat,
and your heart grow cold.
I visit the weak,
but seldom the bold.

Cowardice/fear?
You do realize I'm here because of my subconscious telling me to violently murder everyone, right?

I take it that means I was wrong then? Besides I have a spear and shield. I think I'll be fine in a fight.
