I will actually back up smithing now. A level of smithing a floor seems like a decent rate.
Oops. Um...next level? I started this nearly an hour ago
It was close, but Demonology wins! Now Hopson shall continue his adventures.
We find a room full of Enraged Diggles. These guys are physically tougher than normal diggles, and can go berserk to further increase their damage. Best to take them on in small doses.
Like so. Hopson is pretty lucky here; most passageways in the dungeon are three squares wide.
Our new ability triggers during the battle. Not exactly helpful, but it does allow Hopson to deal his first non-slashing damage: radiant.
Oh great, these things. They can cast spells, teleport through walls on occasion, and prefer to run away rather than fight in close combat. I guess you could say that they're pretty fly...
...for a wight guy.
YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
I'm sorry
To distract from the terrible jokes, have a mummy. Surprisingly easy to kill, though they like to curse you periodically.
Those accursed Canadians have discovered cloning technology! These guys can be substantially dangerous, especially the named mini-boss variety seen here. They have lots of health and deal enough toxic and acidic damage to hurt Hopson through his resistances. I'm forced to scarf down some delicious parmigiano and launch the rocket-fist to survive.
This is a mod item. I have no idea what it does, and I'm terrified to find out.
Screw wights. Seriously. Those pools of blood are from two consecutive ice bolts, and now it cursed me. ROCKET. PUNCH.
Praise the gods! We found ourselves a Horadric Lutefisk Cube! You remember lutefisk, right? This thing serves as a handy storage for all of your lutefisk. Know why?
Because any item that you drop into the cube turns into a single piece of lutefisk, of course! It's like a trashcan, but it actually gives you stuff in return. Indispensible if you have a lot of junk filling your inventory but you can't find a store to sell it.
Skål!
I'm pretty sure this is a mod item. Jeez. Hopefully it won't burn down my house.
Ah, Floor 2's first Inconsequentia Shrine. This time, the goddess wants us to find an item that is being guarded by the 28th Cohort. Challenge accepted.
Why can't I find any decent, non-staff artifacts? I'd kill for an artifact axe right about now, for some damage variety.
And before I even realize it, Hopson hits level 6! What new ability should he take?
Axe Skill: Viking Strike
Has a chance to perform a special attack in combat. Also increases counter chance and accuracy.
Shield Skill: Defensive Bash
Grants a cooldown-based attack ability that deals crushing damage to a single enemy, and possibly stuns it. Also increases Block chance a smidge.
Berserker Skill: Viking Temperment
Has a chance to increase attack power for a while after getting hit.
Master of Arms Skill: Suit Up
A cooldown ability. When active, your defensive abilities are increased. Also passively increases block chance and piercing resistance.
Smithing Skill: Metallurgical Practitioner
Increases burliness, promethean resistance, and smithing level.
Demonology Skill: Celestial Circle
Costs 14 mana to activate. Dramatically increases defensive abilities, as long as we have mana and do not leave the square we are in. Passively boosts radiance resistance.
Clockwork Skill: Rocket Jump
This ability will detonate explosives at your current location, allowing you to jump to another point within sight range. However, you will also take damage from using this ability. Also passively increases tinkering skill.
