Clothing management
« on: June 11, 2012, 10:06:12 pm »

Dwarfs seem to throw away big piles of old clothes outside the booze hall. Many of these clothes are masterworks, or have masterwork images sewn onto them. How to get rid of them? The master workers might get mad if too many of their best works are destroyed.

You could always trade them away for something useful like metals.

  • Designate a small garbage dump zone nearby. Can be single-tile/quantum dump.
  • In the very same tile, designate a refuse stockpile. Disable everything for it except for something that won't generate miasma so it's still considered a refuse stockpile but barely used.
  • Designate all the clothing to be dumped.
The clothing will be dumped on top of the refuse stockpile. In recent versions, clothing on such stockpiles decays extremelyfast and doesn't cause masterwork-related bad thoughts when it disappears.

It's simply an escaped demon posing as a god. Still a badass killing machine, but nothing your dwarves can't handle.
