You look around the top of the tower again, you suppose the hatch in the middle might be a way in, but there's no way to tell for sure. 

Looking over the edge you see a long, barren, plain stretching off into as far as you can see, which is pretty far. 

You think about calling Vix the Multimancer, but unfortunately you do not have a crystal ball to contact him with!

For the first time you look up into the sky.  You can't tell if the moon is out or not, because everything is obscured by fake-dead birds falling to earth.
