I think its actually "less lethal" not "less than lethal"...based on what I have heard and I see lots of cop videos.

Also "less than lethal" means the same as "non lethal"

You are wrong. The "less than lethal" term is officially recognized and used. I find it hilarious.

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

I can't wait. Finally, we'll have an alternative to the old "Steal one gold coin, shopkeeper leaps over the counter and tries to bite your face off" system that every videogame has used since time immemorial.

Currently critters will typically fight until one side dies or flees. Now they'll be able to stop earlier so you can just beat the crap out of someone without wanting to kill them.
I don't follow. You can not want to kill something?
You can create bar-fights now.
My bet is the one with the sword wins.

wouldn't say wrong...just used to a different, and equally "right" term.

Less (than) lethal tasers/bean bag guns/pepper spray are still lethal if used incorrectly.

Next update, I predict there will be a rash of topics attempting to re-lethal-weaponize less (than) lethal fighting/weapons.

To admit though Dwarf Fortress does exist in a epic universe so chances are non-lethal attacks will be much more effective in it then in real life.

Hopefully we can provoke "prone to anger" people into attacking our adventurers, and then have them identified/arrested/wanted as criminals due to that escalation.

But then even more people will attack you.

"Hey dwarf, you got our boy arrested!"

"Hey, tree raper! You are a pussy that cant throw punches!"

"Hey, tall boy. You need cops to save your ass? None around here..."

Or atleast it SHOULD.

Yes. Something like adventurer A taunts bully B, who then attacks A. Cop C intervenes because B broke the town's law, while A retreats. What hasn't changed is that A's reputation with B's faction/friends has decreased, even if B is in jail, so you might expect to be hated/chased by gangers (perhaps only for the taunting, unless Toady lets them recognize cause and effect).

Now if the partially implemented disguise system gets expanded, you could pretend to be a member of another faction in order to instigate a conflict.

Or you just get brought before justice too, for public brawling, provocation, and being a foreigner.
