Time goes on with every keypress
« on: June 11, 2012, 03:32:51 am »

I'm not sure if it is a bug or a feature and I thought that I had read something about it on the devpage but I couldn't find it.
[0.34.11]

If I decease and there are other fighters left I can press any key (except ESC of course) and the time goes further on. I can "see" them fighting. OK...it's nice to see if my troops can handle this massive goblin assault but I have noticed little timesteps by scrolling through the inventory etc. I think. With the last one I'm not really sure because it was some days ago and I thought it was my fault of memory.

If this is a bug I will post it on the bug tracker but perhaps it is intended and/or my brain failed.

I think this is a bug, but I'm pretty sure it was in the older versions too, so I guess it isn't, or at least, isn't worked out yet.

This'll be fun though, in the face of a necromancer. See that guy raise you up from the dead, and who knows, you might be able to control your character?

hmm...right...could be a funny thing to prevent the need of eating/drinking but I think the most animated corpses are under the control of the necromancer and if I'm too deep into the game this NPC can control me in real ???

don't see this as a bug since the game kills any action to the adventurer but time skip and clearing announcements and checking the weather. this was around since I remember back in 40d and doesn't effect anything but allowing you to watch life go on with out you for some time.

right but only if this is happening after death in adventuremode.

after playing a little today it seems that it is only then and not when I'm alive and pressing keys in inventory etc.

After death it would be nice to "look" around and such...then I could write down the goblin-names to look after them in the legends...without this info its relative difficult to find them.

You cant. all that happens is you get to watch yourself rip apart your friends. It dosent work when a mummy revives you either. They arent under the necromancers direct control, they just simply act as his/her companions,

it would be awesome if a bug in df 3.567.12 actually caused a zombie apocalypse, where players killed by a necromancer in game would have their character revived and their IRL person controlled by the necromancer. this would be a real problem because by then df had been ported to apple's i-phone5000xpto and was the most played game in the world

It does happen after death in adventure mode. Though you can't look around since your dead and you can't move your eyes. The only thing I want to test is if you ressurect via companion wizard though this means you need to make an interaction that does that.

It was quite unsettling to see my blood spread downriver after I was gored to death by a bogeyman.

Pretty cool though, I guess, if unintentional.
