I like the latest updates which bring more steps in the production chain of most things; it makes everything much more alive compared to dwarf fortress where everything is built in just a couple steps top (with glazed wares being the notable exception)

Awesome. I've been flirting with getting this game for about 6 months. I've been holding out for it to develop more.; It seems like all the games I buy these days are all in, seemingly, perpetual Beta.

It's an indie thing. It provides for player input, free publicity AND perpetual funding to remove the need for a backing publisher (See: EA)

I'm having fun with Gnomoria.  :)  I've already lost three forts, the latest one to a zombie plague.  For my forth fort I've decided to go nuts and make all my gnomes live in an upside down pyramid on top of a hill.  Its going pretty well so far.

I got to say, its surprising how many features from DF it includes.  I was expecting a DF light, but it seems to actually have a lot of features in it.  And the UI is really nice!  About the only big thing it doesn't have that I miss from DF is variety of content, but hopefully they'll add more plants, monsters, animals in the future.

All in all, I'm pretty impressed!

Yeah, I've been quite happy with it too - although lost most of my population to a single goblin and haven't gone back for a few days. Mostly out of rage.

I finished my upside down pyramid:)

Invaders are starting to get pretty tough for my not very well equipped military though.  I don't know how long it'll be able to last.

If you're strong enough to swing a wheelbarrow then yes, it can do a lot of damage. Just imagine what one of our modern metal wheelbarrows could do if you swung it at someone.

Uh oh. I recently played this game ALOT. And you know? Despite being essentially DF light clone it's still all it's strengths minus complexity plus much better UI. I kinda hate 3d isometrics but most fun part is there.
Game have progression, you enemies grow stronger, and not just in numbers, you dig deeper and most importantly you doing all stuff with ease because game actually have UI.
DF and LCS is ones of my favourite games but gosh, pushing so much buttons for hours slowly gives you carpal tunnel for sure. I would kill for implemented mousy-clicky-windowy-lists interface with remained hotkeys in these games so I can actually enjoy content.
For some reason I am starting to believe that making clean UI first should be and must be no. 1 priority for all developers. Anyways you can always create all inner stuff around streamlined interface. Other way around? Not so much. How many people here still plays DF religiously? It gives me headaches just to think about relearning cluncky UI again.

(P.S. Same goes to LCS. Gosh, somebody, make the damn mousy-clicky-windowy-lists version for this gem.)
