"Hm. An interesting conclusion. The loss of such bravery is unfortunate, but sometimes sacrifices are the only path to power.

Tell me, child, what you would ask of me, and I shall decide if you are worthy of such a gift."

Terrax was pleased. His people had a home. But they relied upon him, they needed him. That would not do. They should be like the earth, like him, quiet, self-sufficent and at one with nature.

"You shall construct for yourselves farms live off of the earth, and treat it with respect."

He took a twig from the most ancient, hallowed tree of the forest and created a an intricate wand out of it. It would bestow the user with powers like his, the ability to twist the plants as they chose. It was named "Finger of the Earth". He picked the most level-headed, most just, most peacable resident of the village.
You tell your priest of your plans, and place the basic idea of a farm into his mind.
-roll-
He understands in his mind, But is unable to translate the thought to the real world.

You begin transforming the wand, But you feel a much stronger force stopping you. Your very force is turning against you. A multitude of voices whisper into your ear "He is mortal, and mortal he will stay. A God's power is a power only a god can wield" The stick shatters and falls to pieces on the ground.

"Hm. An interesting conclusion. The loss of such bravery is unfortunate, but sometimes sacrifices are the only path to power.

Tell me, child, what you would ask of me, and I shall decide if you are worthy of such a gift."

The child keeps his head down, afraid to look directly at you.
-roll-
"I wish for the ability to transform my hand into a blade. So I can defend myself and bring you honor."

Orhon tells his followers he is pleased with their progress.
During their dreams, Orlon measures the minds of his followers for the potential to develop and control magic. He begins the process of teaching the followers with enough potential a basic magical ability:
Dreamwalk: While asleep, the user can project their consciousness real world. The sleeper can what they see while dreamwalking as easily as they could remember waking experiences, and their dream-self can run at the same speed as their physical body can, though they are limited in how far they can travel from their body.
The dream-self normally cannot interact with the world or be seen through non-magical means. Use of any other supernatural ability temporarily makes the dream-self temporarily become partially visible and vulnerable to physical harm. If the dream-self is killed, the sleeper is unable to use this ability until their dream-self is restored through magical means.

You probe the minds of every villager, searching for someone intellectually developed enough to handle magic.

But none seem advanced enough mind wise to have capability for magic

"A boon you indeed deserve. It shall be so."

With that, Sallach held out her hands, reaching her power deep into the boy's bones, strengthening them in general and giving him the ability to harden them even further into various sharp shapes of reddened bone and turn them back again. At its most basic, Sallach mused, it should allow the boy to turn his hand or arm into a blade as requested; with a bit of talent and practice, more power and finesse might be achieved, allowing more complex shapes or nuanced transformations. A true master might even be able to get some use out of less intuitive growths, such as elongating his ribs into a brace of spikes or sheathing the untransformed portions of his limbs with the shaped portions of other bones.

Most importantly, though, Sallach made certain the ability was inheritable. So long as the child's blood flowed through the tribe, so too would Sallach's boon.

The boy tries out his new ability, and with much straining, manages to produce a small dagger which replaces three of his fingers. He strains himself and pulls it back into his arm! The boy is declared a hero and champion of the town! He is carried off to a celebration in both your and his honor. You feel rather drained by this mutation, but you know that you could still do some minor things if needed.

Sallach's People have gained Bone Mutation. It is basic now, and is only found with in a young man. They have also adopted a bone as their national symbol!

Not yet deterred, Orhon seeks out several of the more intelligent villagers and uses his power to start gradually training their minds towards a more suitable state for magic use. While intent on this project, Orhon knew mortals could be fragile and prioritized caution over haste in this effort.

Sallach smiled. This was good enough for now.

"Continue to care for and multiply yourselves," she commanded lightly as she vanished.

Back on her throne, she smiled again.

"This was also a productive season," she said, glancing around the room.

"Tell me," she said to her fellow deities, "How have your own works been progressing?"

You find a young man whose mind is significantly farther a long and ease it gently forward to the level of being able to comprehend magic.

Sallach smiled, beaming with pride.

"It is a great ability not only for its own sake, but because it is something they have earned. Gifts are less useful than wages."

"Speaking of which, what would you think of a joint venture or a parallel series of works between all gods? I have no plans for the moment, and I'm sure there are other things to consider, but the notion intrigues me. We could produce a blessing that passed to whichever tribe is most currently worthy, or a matching set of boons tailored to each deity or tribe's style."

((Just a tip of GMy advice. A God's power tends to clash with another. So all 5 mixing their powers... Well...))

Terrax blessed the forest, and all those that dwelled within it, giving those within a stronger life and a stronger connection to the earth.

"Terrax, what about you? What do you think of a combined project of sorts?"
