So how does teaching mortals tech/magic work? Is it like a build-your-own version of the tech trees from the Civilization games? (For that matter, what tech level do our tribes start at?)

Imagine stone age level tech. Some basic tools, and housing. Magic is complicated... You'd have to pick someone who is capable, and even then, It'd have to be basic magic. In your case, You could probably teach them with in dreams. Tech is simple. You can either control someone and make them build it and hope they catch on, or appear before them and tell them. IN either case, They won't understand it if it's too advanced. No Nukes from stone, I'm afraid.

Could I use a divine act to make a greater portion of my population able to learn (at least basic) magic?

Or at least a little description beneath the map detailing roughly where everyone is.

How will people on the wait list be added?

Will the other tribes have to explore and come in contact with a (my) tribe? Or will some people from a tribe be unhappy and think of a new god (me) which they will worship instead? Or maybe instead of exploring, will the people of another tribe (mine) come, and thus we will come in contact?

Or something else?

It is a rather random, based on nothing other than if I'm ready for another player. You'll be thought up by a tribe, the same as all the others, some where on the visible map.

It probably won't be all that late, but if it is, You'll get a decent worship boost so you can do a little bit more miracle wise on your first turn
