What the heck>? anwser please!

Im kind of roleplaying in adventure mode, and all of a sudden like 50 large roachs show up, in my announcements it says "Many large roachs have been disturbed" and its creepy! What is it? How do I prevent it? Does this happen often?

No its not, they're harmless. Random vermin nest. You can't. Not very, just occasionally.

Pick the roaches up and use them as throwing weapons or handheld weapon.  They can be unexpectedly lethal.  I even ran around with a turtle and used it to bash bandits heads to a pulp.

Blood is an infinite source of lethal projectiles if you drop it. Sand, little rocks, clay, fingers, anything small and easily acquired can be a surprisingly effective weapon.
