Seriously though, are we talking about the same stuff? Storebought or homemade?

All the pesto I've ever had has been delish.

It's all been restaurant stuff though.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

I think the issue here that everyone's missing here is that Neonivek doesn't like pesto. There is apparently a person who doesn't like pesto.

I... I have to rethink some things.

I used to love pesto, till I threw up after a meal that had a lot of pesto in it. Long story short... oh no wait, that was it.

Admittedly store bought but it was a brand advised by an Italian co-worker who is obsesed with cooking so it must be at least OK. I've also only ever tried the green not the red.

if by red you mean the one with tomato, I suggest you try that.
green pesto can get tiring after a while, but red pesto is much lighter. considering the problem you described ( which I share, in part), red pesto may be a good solution.

Indeed. I was thinking of trying it.

It's not hard to make your own, either; just blend a pile of stuff together: parsley, basil, pine nuts, garlic, parmesan, olive oil, salt and pepper, blitz it until it looks right.

If you're getting things you hate, your opinions are clearly not nearly as flamboyant as they need not be.
