Don't forget the irony that the majority of us have to fight against corporate power while working for them at the same time.

Get job working for major corporation (only a lucky few can attain an acceptable quality of life any other way), getting a meager paycheck in return for making them a massive profit.  Protest corporate power in free time.  Yeah... never going to work out in the long run.

Yeah, basically.

Turns out greed is killing America, and ultimately, it's the greed of everyday people.

The American made product was a dollar more expensive at the grocery store.... Right now in the recession, I get it, believe me, that things are tight, but before there was no real excuse.

Given that our economic inequality is the highest it's been since the gilded age, I wouldn't blame it on the greed of "everyday people" any more than I'd blame it for the great depression.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

its kinda just a long clusterfuck caused by political decisions done with money in mind, either by the politicians who decided it or the lobbyists who proposed it.

compounding on this is that the country is based on 2 conflicting ideals.

1) welfare state: not everybody has to work, the ones who can provide for the ones who cant, total egaltarian benevolent society bla bla bla.

2) working for money, you get money from an employer in exchange for the service of your work.

now, these two ideas would not be conflicting EXCEPT, with the way society is.

imagine living without internet, cable, or a cell phone in modern times. these things are expensive, their combined costs usually nearing other major expenses that are deemed necassary to simply live. now, you can just say "well if you can't afford it, don't buy it." but, can you afford to not buy it? how does one get a good job without a phone and a car? how does one keep up to date on the world without a tv or a computer? simply put, you don't.

despite the best possible intentions of the countries founders (who are not quite as benevolent as they seem btw), the system was built in a time when these things didn't exist, when everything was the product of a mans two hands, and populations were a hell of a lot smaller.

Because the big corps are not mob immune. You can have all the money you want, but if you can't get out of a building without getting angry people following you, you kinda have a problem.

AHAHAHAHAHA

If ACTA should pass, we can just form an organization that lets people take organized shifts in following the ACTA instigators around non-stop. No shouting, no violence, no interaction, just watching. Preferably in a standardized outfit. Bonus points for getting a restraining order.
Yes, please.

ACTA can only be employed if six nations both sign and ratify it. None have done the latter.

Yeah, I was going to remind people about that article. It'd be nice if there were people in charge of these things who understood the internet as something beyond a series of tubes.

Now all we need is for all politicians that supported ACTA to be indicted for corruption, voted out, their careers destroyed forever, etc.

It's only fair.

(Yeah, I know, never gonna happen. Instead they seem to be getting acting parts in the Dark Knight).
