Isn't Linksys owned by Cisco?

That would explain it.

Suddenly I'm glad our old router died.

Yeah, I switched from Linksys to Netgear about a month ago.

Aspirin is Salicylic Acid which is refined from a type of tree-bark that I forget the name of. The father of the guy who invented Aspirin used the tree bark but something I again forget caused him stomach problems.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salicylic_acid says that it was willow bark.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salicin was what they made from Willow bark. I don't know how important it is to modern aspirin.

Congratz, marketing genius at Cisco. You've made your product less desirable compared to your competitors due to your desire for profits. It's too late to prevent your self inflicted gunshot to your corporation's figurative foot, but you can help it to heal by reverting to old policy and by not acting on such stupidity powered greed in the future.

Seriously, if I had a Cisco unit I wouldn't for long after reading that. It's not your job as a corporation to take away my rights. That's what the government is there for you to attempt to influence with bribes. (until untouchable [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Untouchables_%281957_book%29 ] people annoyed by your ability to [attempt] to corrupt the Representative political system with money are elected [possibly due to campaigning on being anti-corruption].)

Cisco locks users out of their routers, requires invasive cloud service
They can take away people's porn? No one will stand for that. NO ONE. There will be hell to pay.

I apologize about posting the same thing in two different threads, but it relates to both.

Apologies if this has been posted before:

I highly recommend reading the google document in the following link: http://infojustice.org/washington-declaration

I recommend reading the whole thing as it's exceptional and worth your time and support in my opinion.

You can sign the Declaration via the window on the left after the Google doc and left of the most recent signatories.

In the entire thing there was not a single thing I disagreed with after a single read; and that's coming from someone who also produces my own music. The document actually covered me (and offered many solutions to problems I personally face as my own producer/artist/label, such as an optional database of artists and their work to counter someone from claiming my work is an anonymous work) and it sounds more than reasonable in every way.

While that's a minor thing to everyone who isn't in a similar position as me, the declaration addresses the a great deal of the concerns of many people who, like myself, are anti-ACTA and SOPA (and likely the rest of the recent [plus in my opinion what I consider grossly incompetent, bungled, and corrupt] attempts at international IP law)

The document offers solutions (that I consider to be fair) to many of the issues and unfairness-es known to plague recent attempts at IP law, including and notably, respecting less developed nations and the effect IP laws have on them.

I also recommend spreading the word if you agree with it. It's a very fine Declaration and people deserve to learn of it's existence.

One of the points of the Declaration is that internet providers should not be forced into enforcement, among advice to be much less harsh while being fairer towards individuals than recent IP laws on enforcement type things.

Well we are getting close to the end of the golden age of the internet.

Yeah, I agree. If I'm ever President of the US (possibility starting in a decade), I'll use executive privilege or congressional shenanigans or something possible to support the people's interest in the (legal) pornographic arts and their right to access that which is free or to pay for that which is not without facing denial of service either due to corporate disagreement with the content, or their attempts to increase fees or charges for access rights or 'permission', or by doing something similar to what Cisco is probably trying to do in avoiding (reasonable) harmful invasion of privacy lawsuits (if that's not a legit reason for a lawsuit now, then it should be) due to collecting information regarding an individual's enjoyment of a certain genre of film or photography featuring naked people doing what naked people do best; to sell said information to advertisement corps or any other stranger that pays them for the privilege to be privy to people's pursuit of pornography.

Sure, that makes me a crazy unelectable now, but when my generation has the reins and the generation previous has no-healthcared themselves to death? I'll be like the Pope for Porn Protections. Maybe the Professor. Then I'd be the Populist President for Porn if elected.
