It would be cool if it didn't work all the time on everyone. Insolent noob bandits who don't know your deeds are a good part of the story.

Likewise, I'm sure there will be those who disbelieve your claims (or even the stories they've heard about you).

Maybe there will be the option of severing a night creature's head and delivering it as proof.

Or going with the Beowulf thing, hanging body parts on the walls/ceilings of places as proof, and maybe you'll be able to become the king/monarch or an ordinary citizen in later versions, a la Elder Scrolls.

Sort of like this, I think those adventurers who kill cities in their sleep will become the mythical bogeymen (not literal) that peasants will warn the newest wanderer about.

Don't go out at night or Toady One The Universe of Amphibians will get you!

I don't know if anybody has thought of this.

A person mods in Batmen as playable adventurers.
Uses nonlethal combat to go exclusively after bandits/criminals.
Gains a massive reputation, becomes a hero.
Posts thread.
First line, "I made batman in DF."

If this doesn't happen I am going to be disappointed.

I'm sure I read someone trying the bat man thing already, but realising (too late) that he had no way to make non-lethal attacks.

The mod should give all bat people utility belts. Obviously.
