Yeah, really we rarely see elves living in cold place (referring to LoTR, not DF) and since we're living like elves and humans here I think we should get winter out of the equation, because honestly all winter people live inside rocks.

After lurking this whole time, I'd like to say Good Show! Some RP on how the end began would be nice. But also, we should probably hold reclaim/new embark speculations for when we get some feedback on the subject from Broseph Stalin.

Oh the RP will be most epic. The only problem is i want to tell from the perspective of Someone who shows up later, as everyone died. I am thinking human lasher adventurer, so i can be indiana jones.

EDIT: I have an even better idea! Expect to see it tommorrow or friday at the latest!

Honestly I don't think we should reclaim, and seeing from all our past entries it seemed that winter is a giant nuisance and made us have to break the rules, so we would do very well to keep the rule intact by moving to hot terrains.

for a farming village I'd suggest an island. without normal defenses it just seems like too much fun for simple farmers to handle.

I don't agree with an island. That's too easy.

I think that if we do change sites, I'd suggest embarking near a human town. More above ground caravans are always a good idea.

If it's as bad as it sounds Murderfarmed is hopelessly dead still we had a good long run (no we didn't) and everything worked out spectacularly (nope). My thought is to start a new embark in the same world with the same poll for location setup. I'll do the first year then I'll hand it off to Dekafu and we'll continue down the list in that fashion. Question is should we use this thread or a new one?

I say same thread. It's the same people in the same order with the same rules. Making a new thread would just be confusing.

I vote for jungle town, where we are constantly trying to beat back the wilderness.

This sounds pretty much perfect. As for an embark location, I think we should definitely have sand and/or clay. Clay would mean brick buildings and sand would mean windows in those buildings, both terribly civilized.

I have a question: How do we decide who gets dwarfed and in which order in the new fort?
Since my turn is up first/second I should get one of the starting seven (finally  :P), so I'll resubmit:
Name: Flamey
Gender: Female
Jobs: Weaver/Clothier
Title: Clothesmaster

I was going to give myself and the next six on the overseer list a starting seven dwarf then let the dwarfing list carry over.

You can give my starting dwarf to the first new over-seer. I'll just be a migrant.

I'll see if I can manage taking a turn, although being able to pack it up and upload it to DFFD I might struggle with.

Embark location vote: Grassland with clay
Reasons: Clay for making bricks and building houses. We could use wood for defensive structures/watchtowers/crossbows and bolts.

Winrar is a free program that you should definitely pay for after the trial period to compress and unpack rar files. You can also use 7-zip. Uploading is as simple as clicking upload and following the directions.
