Timber:

The river runs red with boar blood. I have tasted the water. It tastes of steel, old meat and ash. I tastes like divinity. I have ordered several goods constructed - bolts, barrels, drinks and crossbows. The materials for my ritual is next on the list.

Infinity Weapon speaks of barrels missing in the woods. Of strange beasts that come at night, and take our goods, our belongings. Our fires burn hotter, to scare away the darkness. Time will tell who breaks first - us or it.

We cut down the woods without mercy. What have the trees ever done to help us? I can hear them whispering among themselves, scheming our doom. Every fallen tree is a victory for New Murderfarmed, Usanivom, the promised land, the home of the last free children of the earth.

The Dwarven caravan arrives to trade. We let them in, with stern faces and burning eyes. They want to burn our food. We accept. In return, we will have their axes, their wood, everythin-

The Goblins came in the night, killing Uristeamer and two others, dying valiantly as they defended our town. I have been too hard on everyone. Life is so short, so fragile. I have Uristeamers blood on my hands, he coughed as we carried him to the town square. He was dead before we put him to bed. We'll need coffins.

Moonstone:

We dig graves outside my house. We buy drinks, barrels and clay from the Trade Caravan. I sit in my room and think. I have bad dreams these days. Uristeamer stands, rotten, cold and dripping with blood, on a battlefield covered in Ash. He does nothing but look at me.

Opal:

Dark clouds hang above New Murderfarmed. Wolfwood miscarried and became violently depressed. This makes a certain kind of sense, I feel. I have disbanded the military for a while. Just untill Wolfwood is on top again.

Granite:

My dreams continue. This night I dreamt that I stood back in the Mountainhomes. Uristeamer was there with me.

"Behold," he said, and pointed to the Halls of the Mountainking. And I saw there unspeakeable acts, fat and lavish nobles, and starving peasants. I saw criminals rewarded with gold, and luxurous carvings in stone. I saw ten thousand corpses of unnamed Dwarves, dead to defend the apathic nobles.

"Remember," he told me, and I woke up bathed in sweat.

Great googeley moogeley, I had completed forgotten about this, in all the haze of school-work. This is unacceptable, so I'll write an ending for winter, fast as can do, and upload the file.

Don't worry about it dude. School is hectic. At least you have a reason unlike some over-seers I remember.

Slate

I order the construction of a quern. We need to get the clothing idustry up and running. I am plagues by the nightmares I have been having lately. I contemplate what can be done to defend New Murderfarmed. Spears? Bone spears? Perhaps.

Felsite

We murder random thieves almost at a weekly basis now. We manufacture bolt, after bolt, after bolt. I am still nervous.

I feel the others looks upon me, I fear they are conspiring against me. They seek to overthrow me, I know it.

So... Nothing happened or you just don't have time to be more specific?

Hematite

I have ordered the creation of a second group of archers. One group will patrol the perimeter of the city, the other will train in the Hunting Lodge. The city is busy. Sacha and the others are chopping down one tree after the other, to fuel the furnace that is our city of New Murderfarmed. Betelgeuse insists that he is the mayor. I let him think what he will. There is too much trouble in oppressing, me and Wolfwood agrees. I would rather make my impression upon the town in more subtle ways.

Malachite

The new work on the central square of the town has begun. I envision statues and cobbleroads! Flamey came to me today and complained. He had been stung by a honeybee, and demanded we unleash fiery war upon the guilty. I promised him that this would happen, and told the military to run around for a while.

This seems to have satisfied him.

Betelgeuse demands that we do not export animal traps. To my knowledge, we have never even produces any form of trap, much less animal traps. I run with it, and tell him to be patient. Regularly. This is also to calm down his outrageous demands for a palace! Who is he to demand this?!

The population now numbers 72. and still more children are born. We'll have to make additional housing, I'm afraid. This will be hard.

More migrants.

Galena

The humans arrive in caravans.

We're under siege. I am writing this with unsteady hands, looking to an unsteady future. I hope our men can drive them back.

MIRACOLOUS! We have struck back the Goblins, with minimal losses! Only    infinity weapon and two recruits had to let their lives, in a heroic counter-attack of the goblin army. Felcis and Wolfwood screamed with bloodlust, and our bolts, carved from animals that we have raised ourselves, rained down upon the Goblin army, who could no more mount a true attack, than they could defend themselves against ours.

We have buried Infinity Weapon and the two others beside my house. Sacha cried, and Betelgeuse had for once no words about his palace on silly mandates. For a time, as we stood there, I think some of our old feuds died out. At least for now. New Murderfarmed will never, ever stop being a city of feuds, I fear.

After the funeral, Betelgeuse and me went to the Depot, to trade with the frightened humans. Curiously, among all the wares of standard-fare, there was one barrel atfter the other, filled with various forms of animal blood. When we questioned the traders, they just winked knowingly at us.

We did not buy the blood.

Limestone

[No notes for this month, just sketches of the town square]

[

Sandstone

New Murderfarmed is busy. Autumn draws to a close, step by step, and the town square rises beautifully. The statues are touching and masterworks of craft. Anyone would envy us this accomplishment. I have given the arhcers some days off - I feel they deserve it. The next step is to construct some additional housing.

This means that we'll have to fell more wood.

Sacha has given birth to another boy. Hah, we are surely a fertile people. We gather the leftovers from the battle. Perhaps some of the armor will come in handy later.

Timber

The old tower, which only held a couple of chests in the old days, we now use for a Hospital. There are still wounded from the Battle against the Goblins, but each and every of them is growing better everyday. We sew clothing too these days, and the dyer has finally started to dye stacks of cloth. They are very pretty all of them, but I suspect we might not have enough.

Betelgeuse has been given his "palace". It's a small house on the way to the Town Square. We've started to make a larger road, and we'll set up some simple huts too, pretty soon.

A set of poor-housing has been constructed. There is much work in making complete houses, yet we drive on.

Moonstone

I went to the cemetary today, to pay my respects. The archers have taken up training again.

I think Argonnek may not be well. He owns around 10 cats or so, and he has absolutely no reason why, and he refuses to have them taken away. I am unsure on how to deal with this.

Four more houses built. The city starts to take from in reality now, the busy sounds from the streets, the distant view of the watch-towers and the neverending, deeply annoying, sound from almost a hundred animals, meowing, moohing, grunting doing whatever vile thing the gods made them do.

Opal

We killed a goblin straggler today. I'm afraid more of them might lurk around the perimeter. I hope not, though.

Only two months left of my overseeing, before I'll turn Murderfarm over to it's next leader. I have decided the town needs someone else to lead it for a while. Not Betelgeuse though. Not in his current state of confused mayorship. Some competent. I'll leave the decision to the cummunity.

Except.

They chose Betelgeuse for mayor. No, I'll choose a successor myself. Let me see.

[Winter is found dead from dehydration several days (18th of Opal) later for unknown reasons. His journal and overseership of New Murderfarm ends here, as does his journal.]

OOC: That was a tough going it was. At any rate, here's the save. We need more housing, and the military could do with reinforcement in any way, armour men, whatever. I'm afraid we might not be able to repel any bigger Goblin Invasions, because we, after all, are a small, mostly undefended, town.

It's growing beautiful though, the little town.

I'm aware I was meant to continue one-month and a half more, but when Winter died, it seemed natural to stop. So there it is.

What's the situation with deaths and new dwarfings right now?

Also, for future overseers and their journals:
Just a reminder that Flamey is, has always been, and one hopes will always be, female. :P

In other news the dead/dwarfed list is updated. In other other news Winter was found dead trapped on the roof of the temple lying on top of a llama carcass with a traumatized bunny standing nearby. Whatever happened we should probably leave it off his slab.

Yep. I'm still here.
And like what I said earlier but was ignored I want to be taken off the dwarfing list. I have better plans.
