My first match was a loss, mostly for not really having a good handle on things.  Despite enabling traps in front of him he would avoid most of them.  I don't think he ever took a street that had a bollard at the end, never saw any road spikes or steam vents.

The second guy got stuck before the first checkpoint though. XD Poor bastard.

Also, it's on the Google Play store for Android as well.

Just wanted to point it out so it was clear. :)
I borrowed an ipad from work last night to play and only discovered that it was, in fact, available for Android later.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

So, I made Watch Dogs run really quickly and still look pretty good by turning off anti aliasing and mouse acceleration. The game plays 100% better now.

So, price and casual hatred aside, how is this game? Is it "fun", or should I say enjoyable? What does it do best?

Driving a motorcycle is enjoyable (until you hit anything that's not made of cardboard). It feels solid and smooth. Drifting around corners is nice.

.....

Um. That's about it.

Going all GTA on everyone without having to complete any quests is fun.

Controlling bridges to get rid of cops can be fun too.

Uhm...

Your dude looks super le edgy hackerskills 360noscope. That's good right?

Are his trousers around his ankles or is he just not wearing any at all? I'm not sure which is worse.
The Deus Ex reference is good though because it's Deus Ex and I got the reference.

Not particularly. There are some good bits, but you can get better versions of those in a ton of other games - GTA for free roaming, SplinterCell:Blacklist for stealth, anything else for hacking.  The world feels kinda shallow, you don't have the crazy open worldness of GTA and the driving (which is such a major part) is atrocious.

It'd be one of those things that could be made loads better if it was patched like an indie game (with feature overhaul) or modded (neither of which will ever happen) but I doubt it'll improve much and as it is, it's just tedious. Once you realize that you can absolutely 100% win every non stealth mission by just shooting everyone it makes anything else feel tedious (and that's coming from a 'make your own fun' DF perspective).

I've played about 6 hours of it, and most of those have been just doing the crazy digital trip missions and trying to do the story (which is admittedly very well acted/with some ok bits in) but I'm completely bored of it now and won't really be going back to it. I really wouldn't recommend unless you absolutely HAVE to play every open world game.

(also apologies for not giving credit to the awesome mega64 - thanks for adding it!)

It's fun for about 1/2 hour. After which you start seeing the myriad of flaws.

If ya want really good hacking game i HIGHLY recommend http://www.streethacker.com/ That is a badass game i LOVED!!! Its moddable too, so ever wanted to see EA sending hackers against Nintendo? seeing market shares drop down like crazy? Being chased by FBI and usingyour phreakbox to change light to slow down pursuers? ( Well there is no real graphics there tho, gotta use a bit of your imagination.)

Anyway thats my best *type-it-up* hacking game, next best thing wich is much more hollywood style hacking would be http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/, another game i LOVED, there is also an online mod but i dont know if its still alive, i know it exist i played it tho.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

(disclaimer: I got it mostly for free, so I can't really feel like I have wasted money on this)

I like it. I don't love it, I don't play it every day, but I like it.

Some things are nice, and remove some of the usual "wasting my time" feeling.
For example, once you find a weapon, you have it forever, so you won't have to go in a "hiden weapon" to get a sniper before every assassination mission. but it also means that after a few hours, you always have dozens of weapons on you, and that you won't use most of them.

It also really fells like a console port, if you play on PC. The mouse menu is horrible (you kind of drag your mouse to navigate in a menu supposed to render your smartphone screen), The category selection with the mousewheel is bad too, and the skills/achivements display is not intuitive : you have to use the arrows instead of WASD that is used everywhere else in the game...

The game is not that beautiful, and some effects are just annoying : you just can't drive facing the sun in the morning/evening.

In fact, the whole game feels like a GTA, except more arcade oriented, with the "hacker" skills being really "push a button" plus the "slow motion" thing. The "stop the convoy" missions can be really fun, as you have some nice options (with bombs, sniper rifle to kill drivers, hacking bridges/spikes/blockers, rerouting them with well placed vehicules, and heavy vehicules being capable of pushing them where you want).
